I feel this might be the "solution" if Sakurai actually puts his foot down next gen and decides to not make a new smash brothers game at all.

Then it would probably be ported by a different developer :(

Well nothing's set in stone. BC has been present for a long time, but Nintendo is proposing a new radical direction in terms of their future gaming philosophy with this QOL and the WiiU doesn't look like it'll go gangbusters like they hoped for.

Maybe there's more to this Namco partnership than meets the eye?..
 
Nintendo made a mistake by not launching the system with Smash. This is not something they can correct now unless they have a game ready in two years.

dude sakurai was working on kid icarus, not every game that isnt made and done right when the console launch is a "mistake"

It's actually Mango vs. Armada Grand Finals from Genesis 1. Mango was seriously down, and honestly it seemed like it was over. Then this. Mango hadn't even attempted a rest in all of grand finals up until this point. After this, the momentum swayed incredibly in Mango's favor. Probably the craziest Smash moment I witnessed live.

It's as valid as every single other game that wasent released at launch, which point it becomes invalid, we know why smash wasent at launch, sakurai got done making kid icarus in the very same year, lets not act like we dont know that game development takes 2 sometimes even 3 years on average, you cant hold it against nintendo for not having it at launch, atleast you knew it was getting made.
 
Speaking of Sakurai, I wonder if his hand has gotten better since last year. I'm assuming yes, but his health since those few article last year was kinda concerning.

Not gonna happen, guys. Come what may, Nintendo's going to ride out the Wii U storm just like they did the GameCube. Don't get worked up over nothing!
 
Wow, Palkia is quite large. It's not all that often that we get that big of a Pokemon available through a Poke Ball.

And yep, that pretty much nixes any chance of Spear Pillar returning, haha. I wonder if we'll get "retro" stages at all this time around? I really hope we do, but they almost felt like an afterthought in Brawl...

If they're smart they'll pack up all the old stages, give them a shiny new HD paintjob, and release them in packs as DLC. I know I would buy some shiny HD Smash 64 stages!

Actually the original conversation was the possibility of a port or "ultimate/definitive edition" for the new consoles.

Then it became doom and gloom haha
