Crimson Dessert COMBAT

this looks closer to Dragon Dogma than to Souls games. It has towns and villages to explore

this is one of my to buy list. I hope the release date is not too far away.

I love having tons of options like this. It's insane to me that this game has as little fanfare as it currently does. I'm expecting it will be a surprise hit. I went from "wait and see" to "day 1" over the series of trailers we've seen. Can't wait.

I'm not liking the combat in this game the more I see it. Too many ideas mashed together, and way too many particle effects constantly flying around similarly to Lost Soul Aside. There's no reason for almost every attack to shoot out sparkly glitter effects from the player and enemies, on top of environment debris, etc. Avowed is another game that also has excessively colorful and flashing combat that doesn't look good and distracts from the combat experience imo.

Hopefully there's a demo to find out hands on how the gameplay feels.

Why always desert combat, but not desert wombat?

I know, shit can I time travel and not buy DD2 and then come back to now and buy this instead?

Same same. The first trailer itself looked too good to be true, and i was skeptical, because it looked like it wanted to do too many things.

And yet, the first trailer itself had my attention and respect for how it was - no voiceovers, no cinematic cutscenes, just 5 minutes of pure in-engine gameplay footage. It even had some jank which they proudly showed off. It gave off a vibe of confidence. And that has only grown with every subsequent reveal.

If the price is not ridiculous and reviews are good, i will probably buy this at launch.

I played Dogma again recently with countless mods that made it very similar to this footage so that is definitely what I was thinking. Now, hopefully this doesn't have boring sneaking around castle missions.

A teacher I had in high school had a way for us to remember how to make sure we were spelling desert and dessert correctly when using it in the appropriate context.
She said "Dessert has two S's, you might want two desserts but would never want two deserts". It was pretty stupid, but that's how I remembered how to spell them correctly.

On topic: Looks like its shaping up well, hoping for the best.

The combat on BDO at the time was pretty good so no doubt this is going to play good.
The combat in bdo is still top tier. Might be the toppest. I cant think of a game that managed to do it better. I mean there are pretty good ones (damn good ones too), sure, but bdo is still the best imho.

This game will undoubtedly be among the top of the year, regardless of media reception.

If not for Clair Obscure I'd give it a shot at GOTY. Everything about it looks nuts.

It's one of those games where, if you are a vg player, you have to be excited for it, they showed some many different shit that even if you don't like 90% of that, you are still gonna find something to like.

It looks like a videogamey ass videogame.

Something I'm not digging about those pre-release videos is the lack of dungeoning (all footage is outdoors) and the fact that all the enemies they've show are either dudes with weapons or humanoid beasts like goblins. Where's the monsters? Give us some variety.

We need more of those!
