Curious about this one. It seems quite scalable, and I have this on game card on Switch. Is there an upgrade path to Switch 2?

Quick summary of the Switch 2 edition via NMS Twitter account:
  • 🧑‍🤝‍🧑Multiplayer
  • 🤯4K Texture Support
  • 🎥Improved Framerate
  • 🎯Crisp UI
  • 👆Touch Controls
  • 📺TV Mode Resolution
  • 🤌Handheld Resolution
  • 💎Increased Geometry
  • 🙌Gyro Support
  • 🏎️DLSS + DRS
  • 🏘️Settlements
  • 🎁Cross Save
  • 🎮Cross Play
  • 🥓Beacon Update
  • 👌Free

I don't know how this would work with NMS. They update with a lot of content every few months.
Was hoping for a boxed copy, with all updates to this point (Not fussed about future updates)

Like the Switch original

If Switch 2 games aren't fully on the cart, I doubt I'll be buying many like I did with the Switch 1.

Just played this for like half an hour. Lighting, reflections, and texture quality are substantially improved over the Switch 1 version, and this is especially noticable inside buildings. Cool HD rumble implementation too. Still a fair amount of pop-in when you're flying your ship around a planet's surface though.

I've only played a bit of NMS on PC Game Pass, but going to buy this just to support the devs - Hello Games are the GOATs

How is everything NMS still always free, it's wild.
They had the mother of all making up to do if they wanted to salvage their reputation. And they've actually done it. Considering the reputation of this game and Murray on release was on par with something like Concord it is truly remarkable. Well done to them.

You have that on every platform to a degree. Its not just rendering and pulling data from disk/memory, it's generating the world around you in real time. Goes without saying that a weak CPU like in the switch 2 has a much harder time to do that smoothly.

If you think that's impressive you should check out a game called Warframe. It's 100% free and has had 8+ years of constant FREE updates. Like, actual good, competent, game-expanding free content.

I have no idea how that game is still free.

Update drives existing users to play the game -> This rattles trending algorithms -> Game just happens to be 50% off -> New customers buy the game.
NMS reaches top 5 Global Best Selling on Steam, every time.
This free update "tactic" started with Terraria & Stardew Valley used it successfully too. When the upcoming 1.4.5 update drops for Terraria, expect 500k+ CCU and the 2011 game hitting #1 best selling on Steam.

I'm surprised Japanese developers haven't tried to tap into this, but they'd rather fleece their existing customers with 200$ worth of DLC.
