I thought it was obvious that he is a huge Nintendo fan. When sales are favorable to Nintendo and less so to Xbox, he presents the data clearly and with huge enthusiasm. But when it comes to PlayStation, he enters this puzzling phase of weird percentages, all while making major mistakes in the process.
 
He could also just stop editorializing the numbers every time he tweets them out. Be a clanker. No one gets mad at clankers. But nooooo. He had to have a personality too....
 
I like how this thread is probably trying to attack him for being biased when he also mentions he worked on multiple Playstation games and loves them too.

Admitting you are a bigger fan of one system isn't a bad thing, it's just honest.

All fans, including Nintendo fans, cannot accept reality and can take reporting on reality as an attack on themselves. Switch 2 sold less than Switch 1 last year in the US. Not launch period but less than a console at the end of its life.
 
Switch 1 generation has made people think that Nintendo automatically dominates. Welcome to reality they don't.

Chris is a massive Nintendo fanboy, wild have some Nintendo fans who can't accept the numbers we are getting, are calling him a Nintendo hater or Sony fanboy 🙃

He should simply stick to reporting the numbers as they are—people genuinely appreciate that. Clear, straightforward data builds trust, avoids unnecessary controversy, and lets the audience draw their own conclusions. Once you start over-interpreting, reframing with odd percentages, or injecting obvious bias, the credibility takes a hit. Clean numbers speak for themselves, and that's what people actually come for.
 
It makes sense, Switch 1 had fucking Odyssey, BotW and MK8DX, Splatoon 2, and Arms in its first year.
Switch 2 had MKW, BKZ (not a seller like Mario), Drag x Drive, Kirby Air Riders and MP4. I don't include ports which weren't great either.

it really doesn't make sense. we are in more front loaded environment then ever. ps5 was sold out for 2 years with basically 0 system sellers. switch 2 is a much bigger leap in power compared to ps4 to ps5. This is huge test for the switch brand to see if it can be a huge success like PlayStation by making more powerful hardware, and the holiday sales show this thing is about to fall of a cliff.

Maybe. But PS brand is more reliant on 3rd party, it's the Fifa/madden/NBA machine for a lot of people, unlike Nintendo machines that rely on Nintendo. People will buy 3rd party but they buy the machine for 1st.

Also the latest Direct didn't inspire confidence in the future. They will need a strong Ferbuary Direct.

I mean it wasn't really until the 2020 sales (where they sold 28 million in just one year) where people started to see the Switch as a real success.

Because he provides the public data, that's quite obvious. Since he does not provde full data (because that's a paid service), the way he decides to provide public data, once public knows he has bias, will always be considered tainted. I, for example, ignored his tantruns since Starfield 'episode' because of that. If you want to draw a conclusion, give me ALL the data that leads you to that, not only whaever you wants... otherwise, you will be just like any idiot on social network (linkedin specially) who wants to draw conclusions and only shows whatever info helps him...

The last thing Dring should do is respond to Nintendo fans just because they don't like the Switch 2 sales figures and attack him; the best thing to do is ignore them.
