Understandable. The wife wants me to treat her like a baby owl (we both love owls), but I call her an old crone that she is and somehow its a problem.

The cars handle like I'm pushing a Matchbox car across the floor when I was five. The NPCs still meander around aimlessly, so I'm constantly forcing myself to suspend disbelief just to feel immersed. As a result I struggle to give it a chance.
 
Hate me for this, but Scorsese's work is fundamentally about timing and momentum of the narrative. Every filmmaker uses those tools, but in his films, rhythm and pacing are the point.

Edit: Infernal Affairs and The Departed are aimed at different audiences with different expectations. Scorsese wasn't trying to outdo the original, he was translating it. Judging the remake as weaker because it doesn't prioritize the same things misses what it was actually designed to do.

I was talking with an old friend today about old times and it's wild how much more quickly time passes by when you get older. Years 5-18 in your life feels like 50 years compared to how fast that same time goes by now. High school is only 4 years and it felt like it took 10 years worth of time, but that's already less time than has passed between now and COVID.
 
Children's birthday party today. Going to fill the monkeys up with sugar before dropping them at their dad's place.

And then my weekend can finally start. Yay!

I just started playing cp. Just made a corpo character. I hope it lives up to my expectations after so much praise and hype.
 
My girlfriend likes to point out on a regular basis that I'm an evil bastard and that's why we will never win the EuroMillions. 100% if I had excessive amounts of money, I'd hire out an open top bus and an orchestra and get them to play something like this.



Driving around towns and cities with (suitable tyres).
