Still not sold on Anya Taylor Joy playing Alia, she's too close to Timothy in age, and Zandaya's Chani poster isn't helping my fears about the changes they made to her character in Part 2 going forward.
 
Didn't know there a part 3 coming.

Was part 2 any good? I watched the first one and it was ok. Bombastic, but didn't hit me in the same way the book or the Lynch movie (as flawed as that was) did.

Part 3 is the Film adaptation of the Dune: Messiah book, I think they're just calling it part 3 to simplify the naming of the movies.

They really decided modern audiences were too stupid to not know that 'Dune Messiah' would be the sequel to the first 2 movies and named it 'Part 3' huh?

Actually...they might be right
 
Part one was great up until the battle at the end (which was shot badly).
Part 2 went on for too long and honestly I don't remember anything that happened, and I read the books.

Yes it was. In nearly all the department compared to first one universally agreed on by viewers and critics.
I am going to watch this trailer for the 23rd time now.

I enjoyed the first one very much, and I consider Part 2 to be one the best sci-fi movies ever made. If you were lukewarm on the first one, you still might enjoy the second one - it's definitely the better of the two films overall.

Loving everything they've shown so far. Alia aging that fast might need some explanation, but I can probably accept it. Paul's sickly eyes are a wonderful touch, and the use of the human eye in place of Arrakis in the imagery is genius. My boy Denis just does not fucking miss.
 
To me it's kinda sad how I feel nothing about this franchise, 'cause I really love scifi and wanted to ejoy it

But the idea of a spoiled rich Timothée Chalamet becoming space Jesus is just ... yeah

Villeneuve directs the hell out of these movies tho

Nothing about Dune Messiah is particularly epic. It's a introspective story with a political conspiracy plot in the background.

I'm expecting total butchering of the book.
 
Well they already did butcher the first book, they asepticized it and the 2nd is way more grim so there you go. You can't do Alia justice in a single movie, especially since they won't make the 3rd book she won't have much to do in this unless they completely change the character. I really like Anya as an actress, but she's in everything, it will be hard to see her as St Alia of the Knife. Actually she cannot even earn the title anymore because of the story changes.
 
I chuckle and agree with epic conclusion, rather end on space Hitler than rebirthing into worm who lives for 3000 years 🤣.

After messiah things go a bit wonky
