Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the duo behind the 2020 hit Bad Boys for Life, have closed a deal to steer Warner Bros.’ DC feature centering on Barbra Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon.

Christina Hodson, who wrote Bumblebee and is in the Warners fold with her screenwriting on Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the script for what is being planned as a movie for HBO Max.

Loved the first two Bad Boys. Hated the third Bad Boys for Life. The Cybertron elements of Bumblebee were the only good parts. I'm probably not going to like or see Batgirl based on those two points.

Same here. Michael Bay was just as much Bad Boys as Smith and Lawrence. The directors of the third brought nothing to the table. I mean just comparing the opening credits to 2 versus For Life. I doubt I’ll ever watch For Life again while I watch the original and sequel at least once a year.

I'm.not understanding this... I loved For Life... It was different because they're both older now. No longer young bucks who think they're invincible. It was great seeing them being older and adjusting... Especially Martin. He adjusted great while Will still thought of himself as young. And the past coming to haunt you was good, too. I really loved it overall... I think it did well at the box office.

Plus, I like that it had more substance than what Bay usually brings to the table. It was definitely a step up from 1 and 2.

It was one of the biggest hits of 2020*

And I liked it too.

*COVID impacted that of course.

Who cares about the directors when there's this massive red flag:

She also wrote The Flash (which is filming now) and there's another HUGE DC movie Warner wants her to write but I won't talk about that here because it'll cause some people to throw a fit.

I thought Bumblebee was fine. Way better than the Michael Bay shit that preceded it. Isnt the Batgirl show a total flop though? Why do they think this will be profitable unless they are going to market it as another Yaaaaassss Kweenn! movie so people will see it out of some kind of weird sense of moral obligation so they can point to its success as some kind of barometer in the culture wars....

I just answered my own question, didn't I?

In terms of visuals there wasn’t anything memorable in terms of cinematography or set pieces. I’m not knocking the story by any means.

Even the intro to Bad Boys 2 was just insane with the swooping camera shots as we saw the extasy pills go from being created to the guy in Peter Stromare’s club OD’ing. Nothing memorable like the shoot out with the voodoo boys in 2 where the camera kept panning around and into the bullet holes in the door so we could see from both sides.

I just expected to be visually wowed by a Bad Boys for Life sequel.

I could see a Batgirl movie akin to the Bad Boys "style" done with action, comedy, and light romance being entertaining. I can picture it.

But it all depends how they go with it, who is chosen as the actress, etc. As of late, all the WB/DC hero movies have been pure trash.

I actually dedicated a thread to the third Bad Boys movie and it wasn’t a positive one. On a scale of 1 through 10 it was an absolute 4 at best.

Legitimately speaking, I did NOT know Michael Bay didnt direct the movie while watching it.

It was only on the halfway mark where I realized that the action is weak, the story is weak, and the shots are weak, that I paused the film - googled it - and realise that he wasnt directing it.

It totally showed, and I immediately turned the movie off.

It brought nothing to the table of the franchise and it felt like a giant waste of time.
