A three-day international strike is underway at Ubisoft in response to its recent restructuring, with at least 1,200 employees taking part yesterday.

Marc Rutschlé, Solidaires Informatique union representative at Ubisoft Paris, confirmed the participation numbers to GamesIndustry.biz. He noted that the strike mostly took place in France, with additional activity at Ubisoft Milan.

The strike is running from February 10 to February 12, 2026.

Ubisoft is like a dumpster fire, on wheels, going down hill, on a road full of potholes, with everyone screaming at each other, with a massive brick wall at the end. It's glorious to watch.

I personally don't see how these strikes will change anything.

Ubisoft have a recovery plan, but do this they need to make lay offs. It sucks for the people involved, but what is the alternative? Ubisoft goes completely broke, which creates more job losses than planned?

And the working from the office issue. I personally prefer hybrid and can do that, but video game development is very different to my line of work, so no idea if being in the office five days a week makes a difference in that line of work.

This company is doomed lol. No matter what they do, there are workforce issues, games failuers, and general potholes along every step.

They may as well just close shop at this point and file for bankrupcy. Their most valuable assets are now over at Tencent/Vantage anyway.

200M budget on a game set in 16th century japan. Lets do dual protags. One lesbian and an African guy. Whoever makes these decisions is not interested in making money.

Seeing them get mogged by a fat guy is incredible.

You just know the same people directly responsible for steadily overwriting that distinct Ubisoft culture with that exact same dumb as fuck, boring, unbearably homogeneous, monotonous woke slant over the years aren't going anywhere. "Creative autonomy", I'll believe it when I see it, ami, keep your fingers out of the kitchen.

Why punish the cooks when you continuously demanded big purple shit cakes?

This company is not going to recovered right?
It's rotten from the top all the way to the bottom. The higher ups and management are tone deaf and cannot read the room/market. Meanwhile, the employees are complete patsies because the corporate hiring practices and principles emphasize anything other than merit and competency.

More layoffs tomorrow

Pretty sure these people know that decades of Guillemot mismanagement has just been swept under the rug and they're being fucked over as a result. Wouldn't be surprised if they know they're done already.
