I made this mistake of reading a few more of his comics. I actually quit reading them after about three comics out of embarassment for the dude. I haven't done that since the last Piers Anthony novel I read 16 years ago. Thanks for nothing, 1up.

It's bad enough that it's not funny or well drawn, but the lettering's just awful. Using Comic Sans MS is a crime on its own, but the balloons are even worse. The words got no room to breathe. It sure looks like he drew the strip first and crammed the lettering in afterwards, which is a big no-no. You can get away with a lot of crappy drawing if you can at least make your comic readable.

It may suck, at least now, but we are only seeing two strips so far. I am going to give it a chance, just for the sake that it might develop into something.

See, the problem with fans of "enthusiast" hobbies is that they remember everything. Newtype USA gave a bad review to some Gundam anime or another in its premiere issue, which was December 2002, and we still get flack for it on the anime message boards, even though that was several redesigns and editorial staffs ago.
So lighten up already. I don't think anyone can remember a mistake their local newspaper made back in 2002.

OK, I feel kinda bad about trashing the guy. Those other strips are a little better. I mean yeah, they're still annoying in-jokey pop culture reference crap, but at least it's more than a two talking heads. And the balloons are kinda better.
