1UP: 'Gamecube and software did poorly in North America.'

I think once people realize what they have been missing since they abandoned Nintendo, they'll all return. Everyone has been blinded by hype for too long now.

Square-Enix has already seen the light. Kojima sees it too, now it's time for Drinky and the rest of the gamers to see it as well!
That's got to be one of the most mind-rapingly stupid things I've ever read on this forum, and that's saying something!

What, you think that people who mock Nintendo and don't buy their games anymore have no exposure to them? Hell no. I've had a cube before. Twice, actually. Having it sit there for ages without a game to play pissed me off so much that I ended up trading both of them in.

Guess what dopey: I know what Nintendo is peddling. And for non-Zelda games, I just don't give a shit anymore.

for being an outspoken anti-nintendo guy you sure did some misstakes buying the cube not only once but twice. What's up.

As a fellow sucker, I have to admit that price was quite enticing at one point. Winw Waker was indeed worth it though. PEACE.

I think the original playstation had a large female audience too.
40% large? get back to me on that number.

aside from The Sims, DS, Tetris, and maybe Animal Crossing, i don't think women have ever embraced gaming this much. especially when you take into consideration that we're talking about women over the age 18. that type of userbase is just unheard of.

Nintendo approves of the sale of used systems to feed the poor retailers' families.

The controller has just about axed a large chunk of popular franchises from consideration.

I know what all you chumps are thinking, classic controller shell. Iwata said in the TGS keynote that the nunchunku will be a pack in but they said nothing about the shell. In fact the language they used regarding it was in the same context as other extra peripherals

Miyamoto says no, try again next time.

Exactly. We’ve got something that would be very similar in style and form to the Wave Bird already complete. What that allows us to do is that we have all of these new features. We have the new functionality of the Wave Bird controller and we have new ways that players will be able to interact with games. But at the same time, we’ve retained all the functionality of the classic-style controller, so that people who are familiar with games and familiar with that style of game play are going to be able to have the types of experiences that they’re expecting, on top of all of these new experiences that they’ve never imagined before.

Have you got a source for that stat?
bust out a search here on the boards. was from a famitsu survey from what i remember. also said something about a 6 to 1 tie in ratio for software. might make it easier to find.

Hey Einstein where does it say the classic controller shell will be a standard pack in with the console or do you just enjoy missing the point and making yourself look stupid?

WTF he was on point, why not get out of your little comfort zone?

My real worry is coming up with new control scheme takes away from the design of the game, something most GC games were lacking in already. The last thing they needed was a new variable in the mix cause when they don't have the fundamentals down. Some games will be better some games will be worse, it's a give and take scenario.

I know what all you chumps are thinking, classic controller shell. Iwata said in the TGS keynote that the nunchunku will be a pack in but they said nothing about the shell. In fact the language they used regarding it was in the same context as other extra peripherals like bongos, and dance mats which lends even more validity to it being and extra as the pack in was announced. Maybe they didn't want to take focus off the standard config though but only cause that's the one they plan to support unless they're going to make every game dual config and fat chance to that. Still if it's not standard it's not supported just like the 360 HD and until they say it is, it isn't as far as I'm concerned.

I'll be even more redundant devs will only support one controller scheme, the standard one. Damned if you do, damned if you don't cause even if they do include both that just means more confusion as devs have to either support both schemes or confuse consumers by just supporting one. It's unlikely that Nintendo would let that happen cause they want a simple console for simple people. I'm aware that the fucking thing exists as I mentioned it, my point is will it be probably be an extra. So tell me where he makes anything that resembles a point again, I was too busy in my idiot proof comfort zone notice anything intelligent.
