The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
WOW... and WOW....and... WOW and I was happy just to pick up a new 4 megapixel this weekend....

I can read the license plate off of one of those cars in the front... 54-GV-FF impressive... and zooming in I didn't even realize how much city there was in the back.

Geez that guy is graying a bit on the sides... awesome details in this photo.

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.
is it not a single pic? Cause the car and the bus are phased together or something.

Now that's funny. I just found them myself. It's not a REAL 2.5 gigapixel photo.

edit:
Want to see the bus-car? There's the long vertical road about 1/3 from the right of the picture. follow that roat up until about the middle of the picture, and you'll see a bus on the right side of the road. zoom in.

haha! heep following that road up a bit, and you'll find Mr. Leggless, a man in the middle of the street whose shins down have disappeared.

Pretty cool.

Looks like those spy photographs that they used to take from the SR-71 plane.

I suppose it would also look like the spy satellite photos they take now, but I've never seen any of those.

Tell me again why we can't rotate the image?

Oh so that's the program they use in CSI to extract a coin in the ground from a surveillance camera footage, then enlarge it 100000000x to see the reflection of the suspect, then create a full 3D model out of it to get pictures of the suspect form every angle. Gotta upgrade my Photoshop

Heh.. which brings me to a question. Seeing this numerous times in movies and television (the magic-enhance), and knowing what Photoshop is capable of, I've occasionally wondered if there are programs designed to interpolate these sort of details and give you the CSI-version of image enhancement... or is it, as I have so long imagined, just Hollywood BS.

I feel dumb even asking this question, but there will never be a better time :)

it's just hollywood bullshit.

actually there is no way to do the CSI trick - there is only so much information stored on a film. The film has a physical resolution and if you'd zoom very much in, you'd see the physical structure of the film, instead of additional detail. same goes for surveilance cam photosensitive cells - they have a physical resolution, too.

Interpolation is precisely what Photoshop does - hence stuff gets blurry when enlarged - the areas between two colors are interpolated to be something in between, and an area of a certain color retains the color. No new detail can be added in the process.
