Supposedly Georges Niang broke his foot, at least if early rumors from Twitter are to be believed. Seriously, the fucking life of a Cyclone fan. The one time we get a chance at a really deep run in the tourney in over a decade and some bullshit like this happens on some freak accident. FML.

Holy shit, is there a clip?

Man, Niang down? Game changer. He's probably the best player on ISU.
He's a 5 who can hit from the outside, drive to the basket and drop multiple assists in a decent game.

It's not like ISU goes deep either. Somebody playing .3 minutes a game this year is up

No. Naz will start (and he's great off the bench) but you can't replace Niang. There isn't a player like him.

Of course this happens before they play UNC too.

College basketball sucks dick.

I was so looking forward to it. Now? I'm completely apprehensive. I feel like the underdog in every game now and just 20 minutes ago I would've said we could go toe-to-toe with anybody. Definitely a kick in the nuts which is par for the course for an ISU fan.

Yes, one of the *two* people who scored points off the bench today. Are we talking past each other? You got 8 bench points in a 93 point game and I agree.. as I said, Niang is unique

Well I was right. There's a double digit matchup(as always) in the round of 32. UMass vs. Mercer. Thought it'd be NMSU and NDSU but whatever.

UCLA wins I'll be 19/32. Pretty horrid but only lost 3 S16 teams and still have E8.

There is no ryhme of reason. I know nothing about basketball and am winning my company's pool that has 30 or so people in it. One coworker spent hours pouring over blogs and websites in an attempt to craft the best bracket. He finished the day with 17 points.

The bench isn't deep but Naz can fill a scoring hole. I wasn't really talking to you but I did quote you. Just a really tough loss.

Karma for the 2012 UNC team that probably would've won a title had Creighton not murdered Kendall Marshall

What do you mean, exactly?

I almost thought he was trying to say it would be karma if an ISU player got injured so UNC could accidentally sneak into another sweet sixteen because they were hacked in a game two years ago against a team on the other side of the bracket this year. That would be weird. The real karma would be Fred Hoiberg getting payback against UNC for ending his collegiate career in a similar NCAA tourney game in 1995 with the seeds reversed. Or, maybe that's just straight up redemption.

In a tie for last place in the GAF group. 98 people actually filled out their bracket and I'm in a 3 way tie for last. Still have a lot of possible points(173) so I still have a shot.

Only have 2 seed upsets tomorrow with UConn(which a lot of people probably picked) and NDSU(could gain a whole 2 points on most of the field!).

I'm cheering for you guys. Not just because it'll help my bracket :lol but ISU is fun to watch and Hoiberg is a great coach.

The way UNC was playing at that point, they would have had a pretty damn good chance against UK. Maybe not favored, but they would have given you a better game than Kansas did.

After only two seasons in the NBA can you name a player from UNC in the last 20 years, aside from Michael Jordan, who is better player than Anthony Davis? Kid is a freak of nature. The real miracle is how anyone beat that team, ever.

But I'll maybe give you Vince Carter. I miss him.

Nah, I was mostly kidding. UNC / UK should have been the title game for sure. That Creighton player is a douche (and still there I think).

This is probably the best I've done in the 1st round in a bracket in recent memory, and I have a bracket in another pool that's doing better than the one in the GAF pool.

That actually has a decent shot it seems

Aside from the fact that at least half of that Final Four will be wrong.

In fact, I'll go on record and say at least 5 of those picks for just the next round will be wrong and that bracket won't even lead the pool by the Sweet 16.

Mercer's not winning against Tennessee.

And Oregon won't sniff the Final Four. And SF Austin has about a 20% chance against UCLA. And Dayton could beat Syracuse. And North Carolina is probably favored now against Iowa State. And Connecticut is awful and Villanova will almost certainly win that game. And it is highly unlikely Baylor will beat Creighton. And Oregon probably won't have a chance against Wisconsin. And Louisville won't beat Wichita State OR Kentucky.

That bracket will be in shambles in one round.
