2025 is almost upon us, what do you think will happen in the next year for gaming? Some of my guesses:
More Playstation ports of XBox games, including ones that have already released such as Starfield and Hellblade and upcoming like Avowed
Switch 2 is $450, about the same power as PS4 Pro when docked, Mario 3D and Mario Kart 9 in the first year along with Animal Crossing in development
New reveals from Santa Monica, Bluepoint, and Housemarque
Even more PC handhelds
An XGS game does get major GOTY nominees
Sony announces revival of a couple old IP
PS5 base price drop to $300 for GTA VI launch
GTA VI releases in October

But it will get a second delay into October.

Switch 2 will be €500 and nothing more than a ‘pro’ upgrade. It won’t have any exclusive titles, just runs them in a higher framerate and resolution.

- Xbox finally has a solid year with several highly rated games that might have won them GOTY on a normal year...then get crushed by GTA6 during awards season (like everyone else)
- No fewer than 2 well known streamers or other such gaming personalities will get cancelled for sending inappropriate messages to some of their underage followers
- Silksong still doesn't release and we get no update from teach Cherry.

Might be some fake upscalled 4k dlss quality/performance , and ultimately depends on graphical quality of particular game.
Even og switch has processing power to run tetris in 16k 240fps after all(if display would allow it ;p ).

- The PS Portal will be $100 during black Friday and it's going to sell out fast.

High cost area (UK), low sales for Hellblade 2, probably low or limited game pass subs, development of the game took 7 to 8 years, produced something that while a graphical showcase regressed in gameplay for combat and puzzles, founder is long gone (like tango), plus the game has been released and it will be sometime before their next one comes out.

I agree with both and I gotta say I still don't know how Turn 10 remains alive while a studio like Tango gets closed by MS. Judging by Steam's numbers FM isn't very popular and I'm pretty sure there are more people like me who won't return even when there's new content, because they don't like and accept how the game looks and plays at its core.

- AC Shadows underperforms, Ubisoft is taken over by Tencent and undergoes major restructurization
- Sony manufactures 1000 bluray drives for the entire world
- Forza Horizon 5 and 6 arrive on PlayStation
- Fairgames joins a list of huge gaas flops, Sony doesn't learn anything
- Journos are butthurt about Kingdom Come 2 and Gothic Remake not caring about diversity
- CDPR shows Cyberpunk trailer even though the game's 10 years away
- Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 gets another developer
- Nintendo finally releases a sequel console instead of Switch U or some other abomination
