It's the mst wonderful time of the year!!!!! When the eyes of the internet descend on the forum to see what the finest people rate the game of the year. We're sticking with last year's two round voting system. Everyone will vote for their nominees, which can be any game released in 2025. After this round of voting closes, a second round of voting will commence where users will vote again in each category from a list of the top games selected in the nomination process. This change was made to strike a balance where people are free to vote on whatever game they want to see represented without feeling like their vote won't count when tallied against the big hitters.

Voting for round 1 will run from NOW!!! to 31st December <--- you are here
Reaction to the above will run from 4th January to 11th January
Voting from Shortlist will run up until to 15th January

I know but it's sad to see how unpopular Trails game is here which there is even picture of Pokémon game (which most people here don't like) but no Trails game.

Hell yeah! Had it not been for Expedition 33 and Silksong, it would be my GotY. People have legitimate gripes (I agree with a lot of them, especially performance) but the discourse has been condensed to "worse than Rise, also my 5090 can't run this".

I do think there should be a Best Strategy/Simulation category though, especially given there are more of those games released than Fighting games each year.

Maybe something for Best Expansion category too? Just given how more common it is for games to make them now, and I saw in some searches for games they showed up anyway.

Yep, only reason I used "expansion" instead of DLC, is a lot of DLC can be really small stuff, and that would probably widen the voting pool too much.
