Yeah I mean... Hands = Graphics.

It's more than that, obviously, or I wouldn't have mentioned anything at all. I just don't see what the big deal is. It looks like that third-person shooter on the ps2 with excessive light bloom.

I don't know why people say this looks good. The gal in that first pic has OOT hands.

It's not an up close action game. When you play UT, you never really get the chance to look for small character details as the gameplay is very fast paced. There is a pretty decent amount of geometry in the environments, though, and this IS based on a PC engine. PC engines ported to consoles do not typically produce the best results...

I love the core Unreal franchise, but I'm not convinced about this. All the hand to hand combat and other bullshit they feel like they have to add for the home audience... bleh.

UC2 runs with the U2X engine, a specially tuned version of the Unreal 2 engine for the Xbox. From what I've been told it's a very well optimized engine using almost everything the Xbox can do. UC2 will be the first (only ?) game using this engine.
Porting games from the standard U2 engine to U2X would not be a trivial matter, both engines have a lot of differences.

That's the nice thing, you don't have to stick with hand to hand. You can go guns blazing. :)

I played this at E3 and there was a healthy balance. I'm curious though how it turns out in the end. I had so much fun bounding off walls Ninja Gaiden style, hopping up ledges and stuff, doing finishing moves on characters. Pretty cool stuff!

These are all kinda old shots though, but looks nicer in motion too.

The first sucked ass, mainly (for me anyhow) because DE amped up the spped to rediculous levels, even faster than the PC version.

If they just slow it down a bit it could be even more kick ass, a controller simply can't respond as quickly with the same precision as a mouse.

Oh yea, I hope they allow our own music as well, the crap in the first was shittier than the garbage from the Quake series.

3/15 seems so far away. :(

There's supposed to be a playable demo coming soon, right?

:lol

They say that about every engine just about.
