the sales difference between gc/ps2 baseball game by konami is astounding. The sellthrough rate really is surprising that its almost the same (with gc doing that bit better). Konami does know their market

DDS is coming, and probably Hamtaro will too.

EDIT: Oh, that isn't SMT:DDS. It's a different game..

actually, i'm a little disappointed with DDS' performance. SMT3 sold like 500k, IIRC. and this game was meant to sucker in the FF crowd.

Shrine of Data only has SMT3 around 250k, though they're pretty spotty with keeping figures up to date.

SMT3's first weekend sales was about 190k. I would think SMT3 would have higher sales because the SMT main series is pretty popular while all spin-offs are less so and SMT3 got a 35 in famitsu which is very high for an rpg so that might have influenced some sales.

DDS might get one of those games that get helped by word of mouth, the SMT's like most RPG don't last long on charts since they sell the majority of what they'll do in their first week, since DDS doesn't have any installed base it could last awhile.

BTW have you got DDS yet? How is it?

I'll be in Japan in less than a week so I'm just waiting to pick it up there. Won't have internet set-up until probably around August 5th, so I'll write up a big thing of impressions around then.
