720p/1080i Speed Difference?

Will setting my 360 to 1080i make the games run slower then running it in 720p? I heard that NBA2K6 actually runs slower on 1080i.

Anyone have the facts?

Thanks in advanced!

So either way, the games will all run the same?

Shit, I need to set it to 1080i then

:)
1080i, because it's interlaced, can lead to combing and artifacting. This can be improved or worsened by the quality of your display, but try it in both and see which one you prefer. 1080i isn't necessarily better than 720p, just because it's a bigger number.

I think what you heard was a difference between 480p and 720p/1080i.

There can be a difference between these two as there is a large difference in how much the console is actually displaying.

As for the 720p/1080i difference, as was said before, it comes down to the screen. If you have a CRT, 99% of the time you want to set the xbox to 1080i as almost all CRTs upconvert to that.

Most LCDs display at native 720p. So, if you don't know what it's native resolution is, and you have an LCD, you're most likely best setting it to 720p.

Thanks for that tidbit...even though it has been repeated here 1000 times, I always forget that.

When I hook up PGR3 to my CRT monitor (and set the res at 1024 x 768) there's some framedrops to be noticed that werent there before (in garage mode mainly and 'before' being hooked up to a regular tv).
