A 1:1 FF7 Remake would have been legendary!

I never played the original until after Remake.

I'd like the game to get updated graphics but that's it. I tried modding it but you can only get so far. Maybe things have changed now but there were too many inconsistencies with models. Maybe I expect perfection but I hated that character models weren't consistent and there were times were the old model still appeared. Also, the background art is no better than the AI upscaling shit that Persona 3 Portable got. There are some nice backgrounds but again no consistency. You'd still have a 3d model that sticks out like a sore thumb. Anyway, not everyone is going to mod a game. It'd be nice if there was an official version with an overall consistent art style direction with modern-ish graphics.

There's no need to change anything but the graphics.

That said, I quite like what they're doing with the current "Remake" trilogy. What makes it work I think is that it's not trying to be a 1:1 remake. It's a different vision of the original and that's OK. Maybe a bit too much filler in Rebirth.

Ffvi and chrono is a no brainer with octopath graphics.
i don't like the pixel art/tilt shift.

i prefer the Ever Crisis mobile graphics but i don't like the more "realistic" graphics during battles.

I see FF7 and the Remake Trilogy like how I see the Dune franchise.

The film plot diverges more from the book's plot in Dune: Part Two (2024) than in Dune (2021). I think Dune: Part Two is still very good, even if there are some creative choices I disagree with. I began to see it not as an unfaithful adaptation of the book, but more as a different version, or a different retelling of the same story. I still believe that me or anyone else can freely criticize those choices that were made. I let go a little bit, without "turning off my brain" or doing a "just have fun" thing, and it's much better for me. I always liked the 1984 version but now I can enjoy it more comfortably with this mindset.

The Remake Trilogy is not the same as the original game. It's close enough though and the quality of the game is also very good. I would not have done certain things if it were up to me, but I'm very happy with what we got.

I personally see it for what it is. A re-imagining of the original with the developers wanting to do it with their (and the fans') knowledge of the original's story, and thinking on how they would've improved it today, after thinking about it for 30 years, and after experiencing 30 more years of pop culture since the original.
