I am actually looking forward to this game. At a minimum it seems like it is 3 years away.

I'm hoping they go with Goldeneye/Perfect Dark-style objective-based mission structure, with Hitman's sandbox level design and stealth mechanics (disguises, hiding bodies, etc.), but balanced a bit more towards combat than Hitman is. Where it's fun to sneak around and be stealthy, but just as fun to let it flow into full-blown combat when you get caught. I'm fine with either first-person or third-person.

This would be a good branch off for them to go back to the Hitman Absolution style! It was too action and movie wannabe like for a Hitman game, and more scripted, which is why most people didn't like it but I can really see that working for a James Bond game. This way they'd get to flex both styles.

Original story with their own Bond is a good idea. If they wanted, they could even provide a character creator that way. Would be fucking hilarious if someone makes an ugly as fuck Bond going all "shaken not stirred" in his tuxedo.

Have to admit I was hoping to be able to be able to select the Bond I wanted. I suppose we might end up getting it if there's a character creator, but I was looking forward to being able to use Lazenby. They're definitely going to nail the game though.

Crossing my fingers that you play as some sassy black broad with a Walther PPK hidden in her afro
But i doubt they will go for the middle aged white man...
Hope it's not as woke as No Time to Die, or I'll skip.
Good grief, do some of you never get tired of peddling this nonsense? It's like you're desperate for them to change it just so you can shout "HA, SEE!", also why is it always the same script? You always mock them changing it to a black woman, never anything else, at least be creative in your woke fear because at this point it just looks like you're targeting black women.

They said they're doing a JAMES BOND game with their original JAMES BOND following HIS story. The most you have to fear is a race change.

I hope they have a good system for H2H combat. But maybe they'll just add the Absolution style takedowns.

That's the only part of what you wrote that I give a shit about, cheers for the info.

Yeah, I would imagine something like the Hitman mission stories would be how the core game is presented, but there would also be the option for freeform (maybe even like a separate instance of the map is freeform, vs the "story" version of the map). A casual Bond fan is probably not going to want to load up the new Bond game and just be dropped into a massive level Hitman style, but at the same time there is really no other game like these out there so they need to still play to their strengths.

But however they end up doing it I hope they crush it because the studio deserves success.

Because they don't say James Bond, specifically. I'm willing to bet it will have a character creator.
It says 007, that is James Bond. if it was just a double O game, I could see a character creator, but playing in that universe is fun because you are Bond.

I wonder if SuperBunnyHop pats himself on the back for this one, or if this was something that was so appearant to everybody already it was common sense that IOI makes a good pick for the license.

Because I didn't make the connection between the two franchises until he called it out in one of his videos.

Was hoping it would say a few tidbits like if it was 3rd or 1st person( probably 3rd right?), whether it would have open ended levels, multiple ways to complete objectives etc.

Knowing how much devs are working in the game is nice to I guess.

Would you be ok with a Jew playing the lead role?

Doesn't look like relevant or interesting info for me. Was hoping to get some idea of how it plays.

this will be an all new digital Bond that is not inspired by a Bond actor

They're all based on Ian Flemings Bond though, of which Sean Connery was the ideal Actor for, therefore all Bonds are based on Connery

James Bond game by IO = Hitman with hair.

Not that its a bad thing but I am sure the games will feel very similar. The same way The Elder Scrolls and Fallout feel similar.

Such a perfect fit

This accolades trailer that they've released is just SO Bond:

I'm betting on a 3rd person game similar to Hitman. They only have to make a more cinematic Hitman, honestly. The template is there.

Have you guys played Hitman in first person? Looks dated and junky af, with stiffed animations and etc.

I'm stoked. Can't really think of a better developer I would choose for this.
Exactly my thoughts. After seeing how great Hitman 3 turned out, I'm very excited to see what IO cooks up. They have a good eye for level design and replay value. James Bond has needed some love for a long time, I used to love some of the older games.

Hitman-like stealth gameplay in a James Bond setting sounds like a dream come true.
