When I was growing up, you couldn't turn on Spanish-language TV without hearing about this dude. Hell, even his son Alejandro Fernández recorded a lot of hit songs. At one point I became convinced it was impossible to not know who Vicente Fernández was if you were a Spanish speaker in the US.

Yeah, he was a huge star.
