a new low...

And to think those are going to be the memory cards for the PS3. And when you compare size and prices to memory cards from past consoles you realize how much we were getting ripped off in the past.

Aren't SD cards the memory cards for revolution as well?

Holy crap!

<3 NewEgg

Best Buy and Circuit City is still pricing these 1GB MS PRO DUOs @ $80+ (probably after a rebate)

The volume related to associated PS3 sales will drive the price down dramatically.

Expect 4GB and 8GB sticks to be similar prices (to the 1GB and 2GB respectively) this time next year.

Can't wait - 2GB stick in my PSP is filling up quickly with video.

i remember vividly that a year ago i was one of the people bitching badly about the memory stick prices in comparison to other media, like cf and sd...

i honestly have to say that i didn't think the prices would come so close to other portable flash media so soon...

SanDisk 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo (MS Pro Duo) - Retail - $54.49

We're finally at the level where the cards are priced comparable to the SD alternatives. Thank goodness, but I still feel terrible that I purchased the 1GBs when they were still 110 and 150 :|

I'm glad these are coming down in price and I assume so will SD cards. I want to be able to buy just one SD card at a mega capacity to use with my Revolution and PS3. Since I use my 5th generation iPod rather than the PSP for media, my PSP 1GB memory stick will be reserved for photos. I think I'll need, at most, 4 GB for flash but I'm not sure if SD cards are there or not.

How easy is it these days to encode a movie for the PSP from a DVD you own? I'd love to have some movies sitting on my PC ready to put on PSP, as well as TV episodes, but it seemed like way back in the day it was fairly finicky? Is it still?

Don't currently own the PSP, but with prices coming down like this, there's a good chance I will when they shave a few bucks off the price of the machine itself :)

I've evaluated both iPSP and PSPWare.

Settled on PSPWare - it syncs with my iPhoto albums, iTunes playlists and has drag and drop support for divx/xvid -> PSP format.

I haven't tried it with DVDs but check out their website http://www.nullriver.com/index/products/pspware it says it supports VOB.

Windows version syncs with your My Pictures folder and iTunes.

Fuck me!

I saw those in a shop in the UK for a hundred pounds ($150+) only a month ago!

Amazon UK has 1Gb for £50 and 2Gb for £97 now. Infact looking on kelkoo.co.uk you can get the 2Gb one for about £85...not bad. Maybe it's time to pick up a PSP :)
