A original Sonic exclusive for the Rev?

I actually prefer Monkbottom Slurpinstein writing style to Skizzle Riffleblop's dry, witless humor.

Fuck that, Whiffleball Wankerboy has the best articles. His article on the intracies of interacial dating was fucking GOLD!

What with the infamous launch night 'specs', the 'more to follow' thing after that, and now this, revolution.ign.com is the myspace attention-whore of videogames sites ...

Sonic news just isn't exciting. I didn't like a single Sonic title on the GameCube and I despise Sonic Rush. This coming from a guy who loved 2D sonic titles.

You hate... Sonic Rush?

This doesn't compute.

Yea I loved Sonic Rush, except the last goddamn boss.

Sonic Revolution would definitely be...interesting. But I have to say I would rather have a new Nights.

Fuck ign.
Honestly.
Fuck gamespot too.

IGN's latest stunt:
"OMG MEGATON 1 CLICK AWAY"
"ZOMG ALMOST THERE"
reminded me of how much I hate them.

So it's highly unlikely that someone hacked them or something?

Wow. They have to have something I would think. Tommorrow is Friday, and they usually have features ready for that day.

...

Fridayton?

Well news has been slow lately.

And in the absence of any new FCK screenshots, another Fridayton will have to do.

Actually, I haven't purchased a single Sonic game this gen besides handhled ones.

WHAT, ALL OF THEM? ALL... uh, "one" OF THEM? There is only one original proper console Sonic game this gen as far as I can count.

Also, re: this news: "No further details are available at this time."

Who'd have thought that.

I know stuff that is happening on Rev right now from this company that "Zmegatons" this rumor into next week, and this is the best that the world's no1 or no2 game site can come up with. Sometimes, Matt knows a thing or two else as well, and if he decides he can get away with a playground Sega rumor yet not other details about other things I know that he knows (or at least I fucking hope he does otherwise there's no hope for mankind), that it is at the very least, disheartening. Oh, but I forgot, it's only Sega; let's run it. Big corp-ass owned sites are the new Future of print shame, and it's up to independent sites to restore balance. And then get bought by Future or Murdoch and start telling lies every day.

Sounds reasonable. They are tailoring one game to the Ps3 and the 360, and the Revolution gets its own version. Isn't that what Capcom is doing with Resident Evil as well? Better than severely crippled ports, that's for sure.

Get this man drunk stat.

Given Sonic Team's recent non PSO games, do you really want that?
They could give it to UGA. Sonic Riders looks excellent so far.

Right now though, I bet Sonic Revolution's coming from the Samba/Billy Hatcher team. They've been quiet awhile. They'd also be the best choice for a NiGHTS remake/sequel imo.

The PS3/360 version is suppose to be the 15th Anniversary version of Sonic. It's the first Sonic 3D not directed by Iizuka. Naka said they're calling it "Sonic the Hedgehog" in honor of the Genesis games, so i'd think they wouldn't want to screw it up.
It's undoubtedly from Sonic Team USA. They're the only group with enough staff to really handle a multiplatform, high end, next gen Sonic title. Sales of Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes and Shadow probably ensure Naka wouldn't view them as "screwing up" on it either.

I could see a setup where you can speed up/slow down Sonic by gently moving your wrist up and down, or maybe a system where Sonic builds up speed to the point where things around him slow down (Matrix style).

That could be cool. If the remaining "secret" of the Rev controller are gyros that create a sensory "feedback/tension" ... that could be incredible to feel the controller push back because Sonic is moving at such a high speed.

But yeah, NiGHTS Revolution would seem to be a no-brainer ... in either case, for me to be interested in Sonic again ... it'd have to be a lot more action oriented.

How about tilting it right/left if it's 2d? The more you tilt the faster he runs. That'd be fairly simple.

I think you'd also be able to spin the controller around in your hand (mimicing Sonics spinball) and then point to an enemey on the screen and have Sonic spin into a baddie. That'd be cool.

Someone saying Sonic Rush sucks, Sonic Riders looks good and constantly spinning the lame controller to make him move = one sad thread. Get lost ya poser Sonic fans!

Woa, for a near-confirmation of an exclusive Rev game - from Sega no less - this thread died fast.

And we can get 1 vague quote from some vague source and it span 10 pages, haha.

Maybe Sonic IS dead...

... weapons? Get Shadow the Hedgehog and cry :)

To be honest, if there's one game where the revmote seems like a natural choice, it's Sonic. Given the limited, linear courses, the fact that what you mostly do is run and jump steep hills and paths.. Tilting and the A button on the revmote is all you need. A suitable fit, I'd say.

So Kyoto, what exactly were you referring to before?

That weird IGN page didnt seem to go anywhere.

and I agree that the Revmote could potentially do wonders for a linear Sonic game, turning it and dodging it to make Sonic weave as his running full speed, and A buttons for jumping and what not could be new, refreshing. Maybe if it's 3D and he's running away from you on screen instead of side scroll.
