I've been playing GTA:SA for ages, mostly messing around. However, I've made it into San Feiro (sp??) and then went back into Los Santos. When I went back, I couldn't get into the gang wars any more.

I didn't want to restart the game, so I've just continued on with the missions and more messing around. But, I really want to go back to Los Santos and take over some territory. Can I do that somehow, or am I messed?

you will have the opportunity to go back to Los Santos again later where the gang wars will be active again.

Nope, later in the game you will return in the story, and the gang wars will be opend up again.
