I've been looking at EQ2 and WoW on which one to get into in a bit. I've played EQ1 for about 3 years or so, and one thing that really bothered me was Character/class development especially in the high end game. There was NO difference between a Human Warrior and a Elf Warrior in the high end game, they both had the same stats and almost the same equipment, etc. I would of loved to "REAL" race/class variations between the races, besides looks.
My questions are, in EQ2 or WoW is there a difference for instance between a human fighter and a elf fighter? Do you choose skills that no one else would have? If I played a human fighter and my friend played a human fighter would we be carbon copies of each other (stats and equipment wise, not looks) or would there be differences between us?
I know how EQ2 has the character branching, but after you pick your final choice at lvl 20, are you the same as ever other shmuck who picked the same?
What are the differences in these areas between EQ2 and WoW?
Thanks for the input.
