AdChoices - Is this Malware?

Lately within my Firefox / Chrome browser I have been seeing these ads popping up within webpages ( and sometimes in the middle of say a forum post ) with this AdChoices name to them. They don't seem particularly malicious in nature but sometimes it does post some crap about meeting women in your area. It is even on my work computer.

That is a pic of what it looks like. It is a part of pretty much all webpages now except internal company sites.

Is this normal, or is this Malware that I need to get off my system?

Here is a couple more. This is taken off my local TV stations website.

Not AdChoices, but ad related.

It is the sheer amount of them all over webpages that is beginning to bug me. Pretty much any open area has something like this on the page.

For example Neogaf has AdChoices at the top and bottom. If I go somewhere like the puzzle and dragons forum site there are freakin ads in the middle of peoples posts lol.

Here is a forum post example of what I mean

hover over one of the ads and post what URL it is directing to

googleleads.g.doubleclick.net/tons of garbage letters for miles on end.

In the research that I have done it seems to be both answers. 1 it is malware and do not click on them. 2 it is just a new thing google is doing.

But somewhere something said if you click on one of them, you are most likely going to suck in a virus. If this is malware of some kind, it is hidden from my virus scanner.

Not sure what this thread is asking, it's google as mentioned. No different than other ad providers, not inherently malware, they show up because they're a popular service.

If true then wow lol. I don't mind ads, you know whatever, but some pages they are just littered with them all over the place. Some like I posted the pic of, have ads in the middle of peoples posts.

So odd. I do not like it at all to be honest.

If not actually dangerous malware that can cause a virus, then no biggie outside of the sheer annoyance. Just wanted to make sure. It had a malware feel to them.

Probably because they sometimes advertise questionable things. Right now I just keep getting AT&T and car crap.

Yeah I will be at work just browsing around and suddenly see an add pop up talking about meeting women in your area ( even says my town name! ) or shows a MMO game with scantily clad women or something in that nature.

Usually it is just TV's and such though.

Funny thing is, the moment I wrote malware and posted that in the OP. Guess what? Anti-Malware ads popped up! lmao.
