ADD Anonymous

To the best of my knowledge I do not in fact actually have ADD. However, the following games I bought in the past few months and have not touched since a week after obtaining them. And a week is being very kind, I doubt I've loaded half of these twice:

Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 0
Resident Evil RE
Cubivore
Starfox Assault
Pikmin 2
Paper Mario
Lost Kingdoms 2
Luigi's Mansion
Metal Gear Solid TS
Metal Gear Solid 2
GTA LC/VC
Fable
Mario Golf Advance
WarioWare Twisted
Skies of Arcadia
Beyond Good & Evil
Viewtiful Joe
Mario DS
Kirby DS
Meteos
Hell, NDS entirely.

The following games I have not played at all but still own them:

Tales of Symphonia
Metal Arms
Metriod Prime 2
Resident Evil CV
Ninja Gaiden

Hi. I have a problem.

Thats a shame, some really good games in there. At least your giving money to the industry, always a good thing. :lol

Continue to not touch RE0

Throw out the rest

Actually, most people with ADD love videogames and can play them for hours on end. It's most likely because things are constantly changing and the players have different challenges that make them think about different things from one minute to the next.

It's the GBA/DS games that are the worst imo. I turn them on and am like "Okay, now what" and fiddle around and turn em off a few moments later. Doesn't matter where I am, on the go or not. I find the fucking scenery while riding a bus able to hold my attention more. I think I'm just in general too tired/busy to put up with this crap.

And I don't think I've managed to play a single course in Mario Golf.

If you have ADD try playing Morrowind and see how many hours it takes you to get to Balmora. Dungeons everywhere and always something to explore.

Sizeable list

Well, you know the more time you spend on GAF=the less time you spend playing games. I tend to enjoy gaming a bit more when I can devote some significant chunks of time playing, e.g. a few hours a night after work, away from here from a couple of days.

With the fall onslaught coming, if you really want to experience the great new games coming (Zelda, DQVIII, Shadow of the Colossus, Everyone Loves Katamari, etc.) at the same time as the rest of many of us, you should probably prioritize your backlog right now, play the GREAT stuff (RE4, MGS2, NG, MP2 etc.) and sell or trade the rest of the games towards the awesome new stuff this fall. You don't play your DS? Sell it, then buy one again later when you actually have time/desire to play. Somehow I doubt you really want to play through all these games anyway. What I mean is, you don't have a really strong desire to play through every game on your list. I would bet you have an impulse purchase here, a great deal there, and before you know it, huge backlog.

Don't sweat it though, it's only games. But you gotta play RE4. For the kids.

Oh no, that's not my backlog. I don't want to look at my backlog. That's just a bunch of games I recently bought but haven't played. My backlog can go to hell, I've given up on it. I really thought I was gonna play videogames over the summer, and most of these were bought rather cheap in anticipation of that. I don't have a single system hooked up right now though. Funny how shit happens.

And Morrowind drove me insane.

Well crap. :)

So what have you been doing besides gaming? I find that I really have to make time for gaming these days. If you're an adult with a full-time job and a semi-life, you're probably screwed trying to nab every great new release. Just grab the really great ones a couple at a time, and go from there.

Seriously, if you probably won't play a lot of those games, get them all together and trade them for credit to use for Zelda, etc. here over the next few months. I hate getting rid of games sometimes too, but it will make you feel better not having to look at a massive mountain of unplayed titles, while garnering a few likely fantastic upcoming titles. Not to knock your games, you've got some great ones there, but not really too many AAA titles.

Life is short, play great games.

Mario Golf Advance isn't that fun. It is overhyped to all hell, but really it doesn't hold a candle to its brilliant big brother on Cube (which just happens to be highly UNDERrated). I've put more time into Mario Golf: TT than any other Cube game.

i'm exactly the same - maybe you just don't like playing games anymore and you're buying them out of habit?

after a huge run of finishing games and playing them all the time, i haven't completed one in ages.

resident evil 4 - 'this is fantastic!' *turns off, remains untouched*
half life 2 - 'this is fantastic' *off*
metroid prime 2, pikmin 2, kirby, halo 2.. i barely even play tetris attack anymore - i think there's just too much going on in my life to bother with gaming anymore (except for a few big'ns once in a while) so i'm starting the cull of consoles, keeping the xbox for watching dvds etc and the gamecube/gba; and turfing the rest :P
