The 28-year-old "Clueless" star wed longtime boyfriend Christopher Jarecki at Lake Tahoe on Saturday, said Silverstone's publicist, Elizabeth Much, confirming a report in People magazine.

It's the first marriage for both Silverstone and Jarecki, lead singer of the band S.T.U.N. The pair have been together for eight years.

The wedding was held for 135 friends and family at a private lakeside estate. The couple exchanged vows while barefoot on the beach, People reported Monday.

Silverstone played Valley Girl-with-a-heart-of-gold Cher Horowitz in the 1995 film "Clueless." Her screen credits also include "The Babysitter" and "Beauty Shop."

I always liked Alicia Silverstone. Perhaps she's one of the few to stay out of the the tabloid trap and associated nonsense and misery.

I've never really got those costumes?

Are they like thermo wear or something?

Did they ever explain it?

Also why exactly do they need silver codpieces?

I worked at a movie theater when that came out. A couple came out about 30 minutes into the movie and wanted their money back "because it sucks." That's the only time that ever happened to me.

Animal rights are cool in my book, but PETA is well...PETA. Annoying as fuck.

Oh, and about her weight-- she got all kinds of flack for being like, 5 pounds over her clueless days. No wonder Hollywood is full of mannequins.

The tragic thing is she first got flack from "hollywood types" for being a bit overweight when the filming for Batman & Robin was starting. It was the *one* time I was forced to agree with insisting a young actress with a normal figure had to be thinner. Actress gains 5-10 pounds before her new romantic comedy opens = totally OK in my book. Actress chunking up a bit before playing a fucking SUPER HERO = not so OK. Any guy who plays a super hero or sickly character is pressured to drastically alter their bodies (whether Bale bulking up to play Batman or Dennis Quaid losing a ton of weight to play everyone's favourite lunger) because - duh - the role calls for specifically that.

But on point, I like Alicia Silverstone just because she didn't go overtly insane (sure she's a bit of a kook with her animal rights thing) and she didn't go broke and sell her soul doing D list Showtime movies for crack money. And you're all missing her true comeback role to date:

Huh, I just assumed I mentioned the name of hte movie somewhere in that endless sentence. I was talking about Quaid playing the tuberculosed Doc Holiday in the sucky "Wyatt Earp".

Yep...it made me sick. Might also explain why she was absent from the spotlight for so long.

Anyway, not sure how she looks these days...but I'd have no problem tapping this.

ummm ... she was just in Scooby Doo 2, and had a sitcom that was just cancelled. I never really watched the show, but it got some decent (critical) reviews.

Yeah...plus I didn't even know. Hell I was developing a new crush on her a few months ago, so in that sense this story sucks. But hey, congrats to him and her.
