What about him?lol, John Oliver
He sucksWhat about him?
Oh boy.God help the retards who don't notice or know what's wrong.
"5 new Animals found" with a blue Rhino is what I see, I don't care about what caught you out so badly you're projecting, and I don't want to have a discussion with you about it or anything else.Oh boy.
You can act tough all you want, but let's be real, you can't tell a well-made AI video or photo from the real thing either (you probably say you can, but trust me, you can't)
So by your own logic… are you calling yourself a retard?
Yeah, you saw a blue rhino and assumed everyone is too dumb to spot AI. Got it."5 new Animals found" with a blue Rhino is what I see, I don't care about what caught you out so badly you're projecting, and I don't want to have a discussion with you about it or anything else.
Seeing as you can't take a hint or follow instructions, I'll just pop you on ignore.Yeah, you saw a blue rhino and assumed everyone is too dumb to spot AI. Got it.
Meanwhile, real deepfakes and photorealistic AI content are out there fooling professionals, but sure, you're built different. Enjoy yelling at thumbnails lmfaoo

worst possible spokesman for this, with views so parroted that his contributions to discourse are already less acute than already existing AI... but that would get us off topicWhat about him?
The Temu version of Ben Elton.lol, John Oliver
As always, politics.What about him?

on AI slop: the thing is, this is an odd time to make that claim, because we're finally seeing models capable enough that the content isn't all slop. In fact, some AI content today is legitimately amusing... case in point would be some of the bigfoot / sasquatch vlog videos. Some of them (there are too many clones for a moment) are actually very amusing. The model is producing a legitimately perceptive parody down to the little details of how vloggers speak -- and all of that is from the model itself.
Or something like this simple video:
The thing is, the "actors" here are legitimately funny, because Veo3 does such a good job at parody. It's almost like they are "in on the joke" in how it portrays the various characters in this context. This is well above typical youtube parody content level of quality.
So there's a lot of bad content due to low hanging fruit, but we'll see engaging content rise up more and more as the models improve. We're seeing a juncture now where it's clear that AI will be productively embedded into quality entertainment content over time.
The Temu version of Ben Elton.
I'd rather watch hours of AI-produced content than one minute of John Oliver slop.
Huh, I didn't realize he was so unpopular. I only know him from a Boing video a while ago, which I didn't think was so bad.As always, politics.

uh this guy is a tremendous ideological mouthpiece, he is quite literally a disinformation source and factually wrong on significant topicswhen people get mad at him for what he said or how he said it, and not for being factually wrong.
He's fine. Some people just can't get over his personality or subject matter. It's telling when people get mad at him for what he said or how he said it, and not for being factually wrong.
C'mon man. The bloke is a complete Twat.
He usually goes about all these scenarios from the same angle. Pick topic - take the lowest IQ take and insert bad joke about stuff that has nothing to do with topic at hand and his audience claps like untrained seals. It gets very old for a lot of people. He might be a twat, but are his points about AI slop wrong?

His trans videos are peak delusional. This also falls under the worst person you know made a good point but that still means they're still the worst person you know.
I never said they were. I'm pointing out why people are being so dismissive of him here. Are his points about AI slop wrong?

What he is saying has been said many many times over. I wouldn't use him or his format in a way of trying to convince people that AI Slop is a bad thing. You're actually doing a disservice to the matter by doing so.Yes I know. I'm reinforcing your point.
Anyone could make the same assumptionsHe might be a twat, but are his points about AI slop wrong?

agreed -- as similarly said above (when I called him the "worst spokesman for this"), the criticisms of Oliver are directly tied to the actual subject matter here of "slop" and AI.What he is saying has been said many many times over. I wouldn't use him or his format in a way of trying to convince people that AI Slop is a bad thing. You're actually doing a disservice to the matter by doing so.
I'd rather a show with an ai host that doesn't use the same 3 jokes and lets the good writers present their findings and information through this fake host. Worst part of the John Oliver show is John Oliver himself. What about him?

Yep when these types of masterpieces exist, he is 100% wrong. AI is clearly the future, and it's still early days.

I tried to get ChatGPT to write me a stupid song, but outside of a few good lines, it's pretty bland. Lacks depth & randomness that isn't truly random.AI Slop is indeed correct. Not a single example of anything AI videos that I have found remotely engaging. Even the code from the latest reasoning models has limitations. I mean it works, but you still require a good developer to make the most of it. Well documented basic tasks? Great. Anything more complex and you are going to do a lot of debugging. Anything on the bleeding edge? Forget about it.
