AI text-to-video generators are getting somehow useful.

So, we started with this 8 months ago.

And now:

So theoretically I could make a real Ghostbusters movie with the original actors or a Back to the future 4, just by writing.??

Looks awesome.

Just like how the net drove cable TV into the ground as people watched other shows and did social media, all this AI stuff is going to kill traditional media people their jobs.

It's going to get to a point, AI will make your own 2 hour movie. A movie you created and made it how you want. And just like social media, you can share it with everyone.

I highly doubt something like this will have an audience. People want stuff created by people not dreamed up by interpolation machines. Made by committee disney movies are bad enough...

Pessimistically, I wonder if the end of your post undermines the beginning.

Marvel/Disney are some of the biggest films in the world, and alongside those films we've seen other studios heavily invest in iterations of branded movies.

A few years ago I read about how the endgame (unintended pun) was that the franchise is the star, not the actors. And maybe we're almost there. For a number of different franchises, people may like the actors, but would they skip the film if it was recast? Would they skip the film if one of the actors was entirely AI/CGI? I'm guessing that the studios are betting audiences will come along for the ride no matter who stars as Spiderman, etc.

The jump in quality for any kind of AI such as voice, image, video in just a year or so really is impressive.

Compared to what you can do right now in Bing.

Sure it doesn't know who certain characters are to make them 100% accurate but if you're looking for something to laugh at maybe it's sometimes better that way?

I'd really like to give this video stuff a try once it improves even more.

I think disney style 'amusement park rides' have run its course. They are flopping left and right if youtubers are to be believed... I could be wrong.

Fingers crossed. I'd love to see films stand on traditional values rather than being part of a universe and heavy marketing.

I imagine people said the same sort of thing about various films I liked 20 years ago too though.

It's inevitable that people will be able to create their own movies/tv shows/music/art with AI.

One problem this will cause is that there will be too much media to sift through to know what's worthwhile. That's a problem even now, but reviews and aggregate sites help cut out the chaff.

But the volume of media is going to increase exponentially.

There will soon be a need for a business that can automatically "review" AI-generated content.

If I were smarter and had the resources, I would be working towards this right now. I think it's going to be inevitable someone comes up with it.

Right now? It would be shit to watch, in near-future? (10 years) Yes that is the plan.

Until recently I would have agreed with 10 years, but the progress made in 8 months is so astonishing that I wouldn't be surprised this will happen in 5 years or less..

Any engines I can try via mobile? I'm currently stuck in a loop of text to image creations within apn app called photo studio. It's output has me hooked for many reasons.
