I cannot wait !! Never played the first game though, Hope it won't be too much of an issue.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. The first one gets repetitive so early in the game because the combat is so simple and you have to repeat the same combat loop multiple times on each damn level.
If they improved upon the combat but also made it so you don't feel like you're doing the exact same thing over and over again on each level, then I'm okay with less combat sections.

The first game didn't have a shitload of combat, plus there were the daytime sections with precisely 0 combat. They only went overboard in the DLC's.

We'll see if they'll come up with memorable fights like in Control.
