Almost the entire warez scene gone due to major raid, 60 servers down in 19 countries, no more free cracked vidyas

Gaming is a luxury but in America at least poor people get fucked in the ass. They deserve something.

Yeah I thought so, especially after how hard you tried to undermine my argument. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
lol, I actually don't give a shit, you just came in with a super serious answer. You are the one trying very hard to prove something here :messenger_tears_of_joy:

(yes I mastered underlining and smileys a long time ago as well)

This is about the behind the scene "warez scene".. the people that actually produce the files that end up on torrent sites.

I think the effect will only be felt if this causes other warez group people to freak out due to the arrests.

P.S.

It's apparently happened because they were posing as a legitimate business and able to obtain pre-release samples and screeners from Hollywood suppliers directly.

But for all the people going 'hur hur hur torrentz, amirite', the group they broke were the 0day 'scene' source a tier above torrent leechers.

I did prove a point in my first reply. Yet you went from "yeah right" to "I was joking" to "you are the one trying to prove something".

I'm enjoying the goal post moving. :messenger_sunglasses:

Alright GAF, now it's time to riot. Let us join our Antifa and BLM brothers/sisters/others and let's burn this motha fucker to the ground!

Who among ye does not feel a true pirate at heart? Let's go!

Wait. Did Warez actually work?

I remember a guy introduced me for it. Went to a page to download, then an ad. Then a new link and an ad. Never seemed to be anything but ads so wondering what they removed.

False advertisement?

This is adorable.

60 servers.

Worldwide.

Did they use someone's tax dollars for this PR stunt or what?

They targeted the Sparks group who mostly do movies.
Games are still being cracked left right and center....think pCars was 0 day cracked.

Why this is news is because they might have got one of the big pirates who has knowledge of other groups....if he squeals there may be more damage yet to come.

Warez....piracy.....haven't personally done any of that for a very long time. I have a guy that does that sort of stuff for me now. :messenger_smirking:

I guess people don't realize that all the stuff on torrent trackers comes from "the scene".

A new torrent site isn't going to make a difference when scene groups aren't releasing/cracking new content.

Again cracking most content has become easy as pie and anyone can do it because DRM has gone aside from Denuvo (Which does its job splendedly in newer versions already and takes months to crack if not years). Store DRM is a joke and there are tools out there that automatically do it.

They are going to have stuff anyway and there's really nothing to do about that.

It amazes me how casual piracy is with teenagers. Last year, during home room, we were talking about classic N64 games (which they just call Nintendo) and were blown away by the N64 controller. I asked them how they play N64 games if they never had seen the controller and many of them explained how they play classic games through an emulator on a keyboard. I asked one of them to fire up a game on their school issued computer. He loaded up Majora's Mask and started playing it like any one of us would play on original hardware. So many of my students are very familiar with classic 3D titles, but only know how to play them on a keyboard.

"The alleged illegal activity was causing tens of millions of USD in losses on an annual basis mainly to the US movie, television, and supporting industries."

Always the most speculative statement in the history of the world.

How do you take down torrent tho?
You can't. With modern encryption you can't even be sure oh, say, the seedboxes at the top of the pyramid are seedboxes. If you could detect and verify instantly and then disable in less than a few minutes you'd have a chance. Theoretically I would not be surprised if the NSA is capable of it. They have bigger fish to fry though and presumably always will. That's not to mention you'd have to break laws all over the world if you wanted to be effective.

It's one of those problems that would cost more to fix than anybody potentially is losing.

Companies can rejoice now, as every single content that was pirated will without a doubt be bought at full price by the people who pirated said content.

Just because 100% of people who pirate won't buy games if they can't pirate doesn't mean they should be allowed to do it.

Nope, some people pirate because they're used to it or because they don't see anything wrong about stealing stuff. In many cases it's not even a case of not being able to afford buying a game or a movie.

Well yeah people pirate because (1) they don't think they'll get caught and (2) it doesn't cost anything. Emulation makes sense in the cases where it's an absolute ball ache to find an actual copy of the game, but for new stuff (or stuff available on Steam for almost free anyway) there's even less justification.

Plus, people naturally associate stealing with physical items so once you get into the digital realm you kinda become desensitised.

A new torrent site isn't going to make a difference when scene groups aren't releasing/cracking new content.

So, this happened in the beginning of the year AFAIK. The effect should've happened a long time ago and torrent sites are easily available for everyone to check. Did you..? I mean, because right now I'm looking at games like Project Cars 3, MS Flight Simulator 2020, Battletoads and Doom Eternal among the torrents, plus a bunch of other new games.

Weird post, i guess the Hyperbole was to get likes?
This was a raid on the Movies scene, specifically Sparks and some associated with them.
This is nothing like the Buccaneer, Fastlink, and Site Down raids.

They will probably lay low for a little bit and come back as usual.

gaming is absolutely a luxury, it is not essential to life ...... that being the bloody definition.
I'm saying they get fucked so hard by society they should get some cake.

Edit: I meant to say it's a luxury originally. Just that they deserve it anyway.

Who? The poor? Been there, think they would have better jobs, homes and opportunities for them and their kids.

Can't eat, wear or live in a game, hey let's airdrop games to starving Africans.

You're thinking too hard about this. I'm basically just advocating for 'emulation'.

I know two friends that say they still get games illegally, I stopped when I got a job as a teenager. Game prices are so cheap if you buy games on sale etc.

I'm glad that these have been caught as it would be interesting to know if profits do go up.
