Cool... but 11 CDs? Why not do it on 1 DVD, and give you the option to read them on your TV?

Because they still want some people to buy it. If they had that feature, we'd all have heart attacks and die.

For a minute, I thought they were making a huge fucking book.

Even I might grab that. Question though, aren't there going to be story arcs not completed in that set since they were carried by different Spider-Man lines? You know, like a four issue series where #1 was in Amazing and #2 was in Spectacular, etc. Right?

This is quite possibly the smartest thing Marvel has ever done. Imagine, having an entire archive of Amazing Spider-Man at the click of a button.

Putting it on a DVD might save us the cost of buying 11 discs, but nobody is going to read comics on their television.

I have been waiting for all comic companies to start doing this, I wonder if they are going to release their whole catalog on disc...now they need to setup an online delivery system to sell newer issues.

This really only affects Spider-Man books from the 90s, which I don't know why anybody would want to read in the first place!

I doubt there'd be a price difference (if at least for the cheaper) either way, unless you're referring to cost as hassle related to 11 CDs.
