Is it weird I can't get past the visible cord on the dash?

Somehow it will be in my vehicle tho. I have like 7 echos around the house.

Edit. My wife just said we are the wait list :messenger_mr_smith_who_are_you_going_to_call:

First thing I was to comment on. Bluetooth is everything, these days.

Also, can I just say I find it way more useful as this instead of a home smart speaker. They should have just piloted this.

Why in the name of all that is...

Make the light red, folks... People drive cars at night - blue lights don't belong in cars. :)

Make it red, make it ping pong, make the default alexa voice a slightly camp male voice, and make it call you michael by default, and respond to "KITT" instead of Alexa

Can’t you just.. use your phone? Or is Alexa much better than Siri & Co.

Android kinda sucks at being interactive through voice
I'd love to tell Alexa to read my texts or give me turn by turn or to play my music
Hopefully this integrates with GMAPS and not bing or some shit

Amazon is making it more and more difficult to keep me from buying one. I’ve held out this long but they’re so cheap and everyone I know that has one loves it. Can’t shake my paranoia though with having Amazon “listening” all the time in my house and car.

Alexa has some text adventures in its skills shop (needs more, but they're a start), so you could be driving down the road trying to master Zork.

To those crazy people: red is an incredibly ugly light color in a car. Let’s not even breath the idea of it being used for these products into the world. It’s just gross.

Imagine that 10-20 years ago. Corporations listening to you all the time. Would never be a possibility.

I still have that feeling and will never (I shouldn’t say never) buy Alexa or whatever I’m still suspicious if they are listening to me through my phone.
So I can understand your fear 100%.

Plus amazon getting bigger and bigger is not something I like to see. I’m an apple fan more or less but only 5 companies ruling the world isn’t a good outlook tbh

Interested mildly in the functionality as Siri doesn’t work well at all for me and we love our Echos in home.

Just too much hassle to put it on and off though as valuables in sight is pretty much an eventual guaranteed car break in in the Atlanta area. Probably not worth it since I’m rarely driving more than 20-30 minutes anyway (and usually only 5-15).

Your paranoia is well founded. Why anyone would want a spy device like this in their home (or car) is beyond me.

On Friday, a local judge in New Hampshire ordered Amazon to hand over Echo recordings made the day a Farmington couple was murdered at their home.

While this example is benign, it's proof that Alexa is always listening and recording.

Have they made the Echo Toilet or Echo Shower yet?

I can’t believe how many people WILLINGLY allow corporations to spy on them.

Fucking weird.
