The AMD Ryzen 9 9900X "Zen 5" CPU scored 53,863 points in multi-core tests and 4,652 points in the single-core tests. The single-core performance seems to be very close to Intel's Core i9-14900K which scores around 4700-4750 points while the multi-core performance of the chip tends to be slightly faster than the Intel Core i7-14700K which scores around 53,400 points.

The Core i7-14700K is a 20-core chip with boost clocks above 5 GHz while the Ryzen 9 9900X is a 12-core chip. Even the Core i9-14900K has boost clocks of up to 6.0 GHz which is a +400 MHz clock speed bump over the Ryzen 9 9900X. The CPU is also 9% faster in single-core and around 4% faster in multi-core tests versus the Ryzen 9 7900X CPU.

I had no trouble getting a 3090 and 4090 around launch. I don't think this will be any different!
If I had to wait two(!) years I would get a 6090 instead!

3000 series cards were almost impossible to get at launch and during the duration of crypto boom and covid.

It really sucked. I paid like $1200 for my 3080Ti when they came out a year or so post vanilla launch.

Edit: 4090 was available on and off for MSRP until AI boom and GPU bans for China. After that $1600 MSRP disappeared basically.

I bought a 3070 and swapped it for the 3080'LHR a week before LHR was cracked.


No returns motherfucker!!!!
Then got a 3080'12G that fell off a truck cuz the 12Gs were impossible to LHR hack due to coming out after the Nvidia Leak.
Sold the 12G cuz it came with the box and all.

Now looks like I might find a 4080 somewhere somewhere....debating whether to jump on it for peanuts then skip the RTX50s or stick with the 3080'10G cuz with DLSS im not really struggling, the extra horsepower is just nice to have I guess.

Where exactly are you in terms of country? Europeans get nickled and dimed like crazy vs. People in the US. The 3080 was $700 MSRP I believe on launch over here.

Prices for high-end cards are pretty high here though. Just checked now, and the cheapest 4090 I saw was 1917 US dollars on a summer sale.
But these cards are always available.
