Animal Crossing: DS & Nintendo WFC problem (maybe?)

I will try to put the DS on-line with the same IP as the Xbox 360 (of course they won't be turned on at the same time) because while it connects to Nintendo WiFi Connection (Nintendo WFC), it never lists anyone of my friends on-line (and I have almost a page and a half in Animal Crossing WFC terms) and all of them are listed as Red Triangles even though one of them I am quite positive added me in his friend list (PM'ed me about it).

It might be because I am not too popular ;) (or that people in the list at Demi's site [ http://frostitution.net/wifi/animalcrossing/ ] have not added all the other players yet ;)), but I thought it was strange so I am here asking.

It would be good if it worked like Xbox LIVE where the person you wanted to add as friend would get an invite and this friend was global and you would not have to repeat the process for every WFC game you owned :( Oh well, Animal Crossing in single player is more than fun enough (I think the new camera and the new perspective adopted gives the environment a more real time 3D look than in the GCN version in which it functioned very similarly to a not much interactive pre-rendered background with small pauses crossing each TILE and the smooth scrolling to the next tile like in a 2D Zelda game).

I think it might be a NAT problem and since the Xbox 360 LIVE connection test has a result of Open for the NAT sub-test (which is the last and final test in the LIVE connection test process) I want to try giving the DS the same IP.

What do you think ?

i don't think the friends not showing as added you is a nat problem. nat problem normally shows as it can't match you up with certain people. They just haven't added you. I've added about 30 people from the mario karts page and about 4 have done the same. It's simply that nintendo has a shit buddy system and its a real chore to add a friend, so not many people constantly update.

I did about 20 when I first got mario kart and haven't done it since. fix it nintendo and put a FUCKING LOBBY SYSTEM IN PLACE SWEET MERCIFUL HEAVEN WHAT A GLARING OVERSIGHT

Hehe, so true... you do not appreciate LIVE enough until you use it, then you see the shortcomings in other services.

I appreciate Nintendo's first on-line effort, I was not expecting them to beat LIVE with their very first attempts at on-line play so I am not really angry or anything, just hoping SCE will be taking notes from LIVE rather than Nintendo WFC.

I was convinced that they were red triangles unless they added you like you added them... hanks for the correction.

I should have checked the forum in the meantime, thanks for the offer, but timezones and all I am about fallign asleep at the keyboard. I will add you to my friend's list: I won't be online much in the next few days, but after that I should be back and we could try setting up a game.
