Animal Crossing DS [Japan]

Released in Japan Nov 23rd 05
Released in NA Dec 5th 05

Looks great! Can't wait to play it :)

[heart]There's a little flash movie with the AMAZING music from the trailer, I think it's the game's title screen music. I'm a 70s kid at heart and this music, like all Animal Crossing music, is wonderful! It reminds me of some of the music I loved when I was growing up: Paul Simon, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil Young, Stephen Bishop, Carly Simon, etc, etc.[/heart]

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend

Humm.. I guess I'll have to buy the US version. You're going to miss out on a holiday (christmas) if you wait :/

It's a risk I'm willing to take^^. Besides why shouldn't it work? THen can easily support multiple laungages without having to actually translate the stuff. Just leave the ability to actually write different characters from different alphabets etc.

This game will destroy me. I totally loved the original and played it nearly every day for over a year. The problem was with so many events happening at certain days/times, it wasn't always feasible to play at the right times unless you cheated with the clock. It took me over a month to finally meet Joan the turnip lady. I remember rushing to a friend's house between classes to check out one of the "sports days" or something, and was bummed to find it was just the animals messing about in non-interactive ways. :lol Anyway, now that it can literally be in the pocket at all times, my town will forever be calling me.

Question: I know it's a big deal that it uses the WiFi and all, but is there still an option for the password trade?

I'm champing at the bit for a whole new lineup of Totakeke songs. This is gonna rock so hard. I can't wait to play this with all of you guys!

I know that it was stated that Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection would be "region free" but has Nintendo officially confirmed that Animal Crossing will be compatible across all regions US, Europe, Japan, Asia? My girl and I are gonna get this game but she needs to get that Japanese version so she can fully enjoy it.

I would be really surprised if Nintendo didn't have worldwide support. It wouldn't make any sense whatsoever if the didn't. They just have to include the chinese library, japanese, latin (with some extra chars), and you're practically set for writing in practically every laungage (population wise) even if the game isn't translated into that language.

EDIT: Oh sry.. You asked if it was official. Sorry, don't know :/

I'd like to see less of a difference between what he sings and what he gives us to keep and an mp3 player appliance would be nice so we can override the town tune and play his songs on demand. :)

Apparentely Tim Shafer is an Animal Crossing junkie, just check the EDGE interview at the website, heh i bet you would love to visit his town heh?

Here are some quotes:

"What upcoming game are you most looking forward to?
Animal Crossing on the DS. I don’t even want to talk about it, because I am obsessed enough with Animal Crossing - still - that it’s actually unpleasant. The other night some people were at our house, and I was looking at one of them sitting there on the couch, and I kept thinking that if I rotated him 90 degrees so he faced the TV, I might get a higher score from the HRA."

"What game would you most liked to have worked on?
I wish I had worked on Animal Crossing. It would have been tons of fun writing dialog for that game. I would love to make a little town that just operated by itself, and that people could live in."

:D

The first animal crossing had such a delightful soundtrack.

This reminds me, i need to get a hold of the soundtrack for homeland.

Does this game have all the Gamecube title features?

I got a DS today and this game seems perfect for some unlimited fun. I played the GC version quite a while ago I actually liked it until I wrote letters, the interface was just bad and I knew from that very moment that I wasn't going to handle it even though its a great game.

The DS is the best hardware to put AC on so I decided to give it a chance again :) but Im worried some features were cut because of the limited memory size of the DS card, I know the NES games are not being included buy I can play those on PSP...

The GC version is really just an enhanced port of the N64 game. Once you load Animal Crossing up in the GC, in fact, you can remove the disk, as the game can fit in the GC's ram. (24 MB)

Don't be surprised if the DS version has a LOT more stuff in it than Animal Crossing.

I think the NES games are probably not included not because of the size but because of Nintendo's upcoming online download service for Revolution, no?

it's because they don't want people buying the game just to play NES games. They want people to actually play the game, and they felt the presence of NES games discouraged people from playing the rest of the game. (And, to be honest, it did. :lol )

all the NES games in AC combined probably don't take up much more than a meg, if even that. Space is definitely NOT an issue.

I really want this game, but I've got this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that it won't be released this year, at least not in the U.S. I don't know why, but I do.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Didn't the first one have like, 3-4 times more dialogue to be translated than the average RPG does? If so, must be a big team working around the clock at Nintendo to get it all localised.

I can't believe how pumped I am for this game. It's going to be the best thing since, well, Animal Crossing.

Just a little inside joke between peers, though if Gackt were here I suspect that this thread would be much larger, with a lot more bile, and a lot more homesexual accusations invovled.
