*shugs* I'd say it's okay, the first 17-18 episodes or so IIRC were pretty good, as were the final 10, but the middle stuff was really underwhelming. The cast constantly getting captured got old, and the two recap episodes were terrible as they were originally supposed to be episodes exploring the main pilots' pasts but that was cut so the main pilots never really got their motivations explored (the sequel movie fixed this somewhat). Like, okay Heero gives a speech about why he hates war, but we don't know what led him to this point. Ironically, for all the hate she gets, I'd say Relena is better handled in terms of her character arc, we actually see all of it instead of having important details left in the dark.
Gundam 00 is far superior as the spiritual remake IMHO. It's not without its faults, but the leads' pasts are fully explored, we don't have to wait way too long to see them all team up as they're a full team from the beginning, and they were actually willing to kill off a few significant good guys which is kind of important for any Gundam that wants its "war is hell" message, whereas Wing only killed off a few parents (what?! Characters' parents dying in a story? Whoa, way to take risks, Wing!/sarcasm) and called it a day.
