Anno 117: Pax Romana Demo is LIVE on Steam

KyoZz

Tag, you're it.
93GB, limited-time only demo. No progression save will be carried over too.

The demo will be available from Sept. 2nd to September 16th and gives you access to the early game portion of Anno 117: Pax Romana, letting you experience the first two population tiers in both Latium and Albion in Sandbox Mode.

The game is heavy as fuck, can't maintain 60fps with a 4090. A 5090 can't either (this is maxed out with ray tracing and DLAA).

But it's beautiful.

Branded Branded it's pretty much the full game at 90gb. Some things are locked that's it.

Nice! Just in time for me to try it out my new laptop capabilities, I hope the rtx 4050 can at least play it.

Would CPU play a huge role with a game like this?

Thanks for the heads up. Won't get any quality time in front of my PC until the weekend, but looking foreward to checking it out.

I played 59 minutes and it played great on my laptop (i7, 4050, 16gb) at medium settings on 1080p.

The game seems quite polished and I enjoyed the new mechanics.

I will definitely buy it.

its 45gb at the ubisoft client. The game is really demanding tho, at 3440x1440 i see fps drop below the 60 fps on a 5080, gpu is always 100% used even with dlss performance.

Alright, played it for a bit. Yep, it's anno alright, however I see absolutely 0 reasons to buy it at launch considering how much content 1800 offers right now and how similar this is to it except it lacks in content. Even if you're a super die hard fan and you only play anno I'd still wait for more dlc before diving in. I loved all Anno games, but after 1800 and how ubisoft deals with extra content, I will be skipping day one and I will be buying it a year after or so. Nice visuals thanks to RTGI but without frame-gen, once you'll get to bigger cities it'll be hard to sustain its performance with high RTGI if you dont have a 4090/5090.

While I agree with you on the value, the appeal of this game is in the setting.

Take a look at the PC Features Trailer for Anno 117: Pax Romana, a city-building simulation game developed by Ubisoft. The game felt pretty cheerful with a SIMS kind of quality. Were all Annos have this lighthearted vibe. Didn't really felt at place.
All Annos have positive atmosphere. If you want to try one game Anno 1800 base game was like 5 euro on steam these days. Base game has enough content 30-40 hours.
If you want to try another one, i recommend Anno 1404.

One hour time limit sucks. Not only because being able to relax is part of the appeal, but it raises concerns about performance which the time limit may be an effort to hide.
