Released today for purchase on iTunes and Amazon. Makara sounds to be much, much more aggressive (for those who though ill of their last effort) than Cartographer was. Samples at their home page below.

After much persistence by the Vonlichtens, working alongside a multitude of musicians, Makara is available for purchase.

Over two years have passed since the release of Cartographer, and I believe that this new album will win back those not partial to the overly mellow and moody style that the previous album had delivered. Makara captures the epicness of Unearthed, but amping it up even more if that were possible!

It also says

This is the first album to include remixes of classical songs created hundreds of years ago by legendary composers.

* Saint Matthew Passion was a composition written by Johann Sebastian Bach in 1727.
* Moonlight Sonata was composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, completed in 1801.

Interesting...Anyone else surprised by this release? I remember the last CD dropping without almost no information prior. Wasn't expecting this one so soon. Will have to wait until I get home to give it a thorough listen.
