Aaaargh. but with an attitude like that, we'll see more eventually.
If I was her next director, I'd now switch all the bras she'd be supposed to wear to shitty bras, hoping she'd just show her jugs in every scene.

Well...there always can be a 'director's cut' DVD.

Then this will be a dvd where I actually by the extra special super unrated version.. with 2 minutes of extra footage.

It's just a matter of time, people. She didn't do it for this film, but I think it's pretty clear she is a "go ahead" kind of actress. She'll do it.
Definitely.

Hell, I don't know if you ever saw Smokey and the Bandit 3, but it was rated PG and filled with nudity. I remember watching this on HBO when I was maybe 10 or 11 thinking I'd struck gold.

Not unusual for the early days of the rating system. Sixteen Candles has a shower scene and fuck is uttered within the first few moments of the movie, and it was rated PG then (not sure if it has been re-rated since then). Then there's Texas Chainsaw Massacare, which went on to earn an adult rating in spite of the fact that it's largely devoid of profanity, nor is there any blood shown at all.

The rating system has always been a joke. It's becoming worst now because Hollywood is trying even harder to appeal to every kind of audience with their product, and often the result has been the failure to appeal all except may be a few fans and what not.

The ratings system also didn't used to have a PG-13 slot, so PG movies could obviously get away with more, as they were the tier below R.

I don't have a problem with rating movies so that parents know what their kids are seeing, but the system as it is now is just awful and places far too much priority on language and nudity/sex.

Didn't Garden State get an R becuase they said Fuck twice?

Also FUCK YOU, MICHAEL BAY.

Man he is a jerk. He could have put on a digital bra and then released it on DVD in an unrated version. Man...what a movie it could have been. :(

I'm not sure about that, but it really wouldn't surprise me as I've heard of similar instances like that.

I also think theaters should not be allowed to enforce the ratings system and it should be strictly informative. That way, if level-headed parents want to allow their 16 year-old to see a movie that has a little sex or cursing in it, they don't have to go through the trouble of going to the ticket window and buying the damn tickets (which I'm sure the 16 year-old would just love). If you have a child who is consistently sneaking off to see movies you don't want him to without your knowledge, you probably have deeper parenting issues to worry about.

This is the man we're trusting with our Transformers movie?!

I guess this means no Arcee shower scene. :(

Garden State also had nudity, right?
Briefly, but it was because of the Fucks. Braff worte about in his movie blog:

Some of you have been asking about the rating. Just so you all know, your government doesn't believe a 16 year old should hear the word "fuck" more than twice in a 2 hour period. The second you say "fuck" twice in a movie your film becomes "R". No exceptions. Pretty crazy, huh? You can blow someone's head off, but 2 fucks makes you unwatchable for someone under 17. Unless they have their parent there to explain it to them. "Mom, I understood the first use of the word fuck, but what's with the second - give me guidance please. I've heard one fuck before, but ever since I heard the second one I've had this insatiable desire to rob a liquor store and refer to all women as "ho's".

Anyway, that's why the movie's R. There is a brief shot of a breast - not mine don't get all excited - but it's because of the "one fuck" rule.

You guys realize that he doesn't have the final say in it being PG-13 right? :P

I'm pretty sure the studio would not have this be an R movie.

This is as bad as when Sigourney Weaver wanted to do the climax of Alien naked but got turned down. THE HUMANITY!

Well, Alien was already close to getting an X rating because of the violence so I'm sure they didn't want to taunt the MPAA any more. Hell, no studio wanted to make Alien in the first place, and Fox only agreed to do it if the violence was toned down a bit because they felt it was "too bloody".
