Any hype for the Killer Clowns From Outerspace Game? Releases June 4th

Game seems pretty fun, though I am only a few matches in

Once everyone has unlocked everything and everyone knows the meta, it'll probably be an unbalanced shitshow

Game seems okay, but as someone completely new to this genre the onboarding is terrible, it has a main menu item called Tutorial, good start right? but you click it and it's literally just 5 slides with a thumbnail screenshot and some bullet points. It's not even a manual, let alone a tutorial, what the fuck. I've played about 10 games and still have some massive glaring questions I can't figure out the answers for.

Like how do I keep track of where the escape locations are, or is there some sort of map or alert to look out for when someone else discovers one?
how do I know when my team are ready to make an escape with me?
how does rezzing work, Alien's auto re-rez for for humans it looks like there is some sort of machine, but the machines all look very similar so, you know, some fucking tutorial where you play with bots and have to do this stuff would have gone a long way.

Really disappointed the developers really didn't bother with a tutorial, might end up bouncing off this due to the barrier of entry.

Yes, the lack of a real tutorial sucks. Game really throws you into the deep end. For what it's worth, you can do a private match with bots and I read on Reddit that you can even earn XP. I'll try to answer your questions.

Escape locations - you don't have a map on either side. The closest you get is Klowns can see the map when they are using their teleport power, but the game doesn't label escapes for them. As humans, the only ways to see the escape locations are to find a compass or to find the "regroup location" on the map. This is an area with numerous supplies and lockers and a radio. When you're at this station, the locations of the escapes are revealed to you. But you don't know which escape is which unless you've been there and seen it. Then the icon will change from the generic escape icon to the icon for the actual escape.

You can hold the menu button on console or whatever the equivalent is on PC as human and it will tell you the status of each escape, so for example youll know if the boat has been gassed up or the bomb shelter has already been used, etc etc.

Yeah the Klowns respawn automatically (after a LOOOOOOONG timer). Humans can only respawn if someone finds the machine for it. And it can only be used once. So there are three Klown machines in the game that sort of look alike.

Cocoon stations - there are four of these on each map and you can tell what they are because they are taller structures with four hook stations for cocoons.

Portal escape - this is a small little machine humans can repair and use to escape.

Revive machine - you can tell what this is because it has a tall antenna pole sticking out of the top. It can kind of look like a cocoon station because it has similar colors, but it is much smaller than a cocoon station.

Another easy way to tell it's a cocoon station is that you'll see cocoons hanging of the Klowns know what they are doing.

These asymmetrical multiplayer horror games are all fun for about a day, and then once the coolness of the atmosphere wears off, it's just the same shit. I've bought them all, because I support these franchises getting...anything...new, let alone games, but yeah, I just want single player horror games based on these old franchises.

Looks cool but probably something I'll try for a weekend and never play again. If I see it on gamepass I'll give it a shot.

Buddy bought me this and it's fun with a friend. A little buggy, but fun. Supports crossplay. Basically like Friday the 13th, some of the same issues from that game in this one but overall an improvement.

I don't know if klowns just suck at low levels but humans just completely shit on them. This is even worse than tcm and breakers currently.

The sad thing about these sorts of games is that they die pretty quickly, even if they are nostalgic silly fun.

they do just feel like an MP game mode you'd find "tacked on" to SP games back in the PS360 era (Which I loved, getting a full game and then a fun MP component too, those were the days) But as a standalone product these types of Asymmetrical co-op/pvp games don't move the needle much. Friday the 13th, predator, texas chainsaw massacre, Evil Dead... and so on.

The issue is humans have access to so many mechanics that make them a nightmare in close range.

Example any two handed melee weapon allows for a charge up attack, which if it lands stuns the clown, allowing you to chain multiple hits before they ever recover. Versus say the clown equivalent mallet, which has this weird dive forward that causes you to miss 90% of the time.

Effectively humans have an easier time damaging in melee than clowns, this should not be the case.

I have found that the popcorn bazooka is a must have even after the day 1 nerf, because it allows you as a clown to avoid melee and engage at medium range with humans until they are downed and you can then cotton them. You will often see humans get frustrated because they know if they catch you in melee even 1 on 1 they will essentially win. Weaving around with the popcorn bazooka allows you to avoid all that.

There are also too many game ruining bugs, half the time I can't use any item as human as I am stuck in some animation glitch after being hit mid use, or as clown when I go for a clowntality the player leaves, freezing me in place unable to do anything.

Also I'm still very confused about the human classes, yes there's a difference in health and damage... but that's it!? It should be more in depth, as should the clowns.

There's fun to be had, but certain design choices and bugs currently get in the way.

900 players on steam... i know its crossplay and most players are on console but a big oof. They are so stupid to price this at 40. Game looks fun but i aint paying 40 for a game thats probably gonna die in a month

The game was literally unplayable last night with those low numbers, queues of 1000+ players, constant disconnects and 4 minute wait times for a match as the infrastructure just collapsed.

So they estimated much lower numbers than they got, I would agree it's not worth the £50 I paid for the deluxe version... but then I'm still playing it unlike a game like Homeworld 3 which I refunded.

As for its death... yeah I suspect your right.

Yeah, I kept running into this glitch where I'd fire shots from my revolver and then it just refused to fire after that despite having 4 rounds left. Also ran into a match where one of my klown teammates was aiding the humans.

Yeah I don't get the Klown classes. Im playing the trapper but I don't have any actual traps as far as I can tell.

So glad I didn't get FOMO. If TCM is an eternal argument over which side the game favours, it's clear as fuck this game is human sided so it's gonna die pretty quick if they don't fix that.
