I just started watching Static about 2 weeks ago. For some reason I always thought it was gonna be some insulting 2nd-rate no-effort show with a bunch of slang and stereotyoes. It's actually kind of cool. Yeah it uses slang and features alot of "black/ethnic" characters. But it manages to come across as stylish unique and cool, rather than racist caricatures. And the part where he finds out his friends dad was a bigot was VERY cool. I didn't think modern cartoons had the balls to go there. Speaking as a young black guy who'll always love cartoons, this was something I was waiting for. Too bad I ignored it for so long.

And Batman Beyond? This might have been the most twisted/dark "kids" cartoon ever. Forget Batman and Superman before it, and JL after. This show had some seriously violent and disturbing scenarios. Like the guy who got his bones sucked out and had to be fed through a funnel. Or the one where a hunter is shown having his spine broken by a panther. And some of the implied(or not so implied) deaths/tortures were great.

WB needs to quit pussyfooting and put these(Tiny Toons and Animaniacs too) on DVD.

I stopped loving this post when I read this:

Forget Batman and Superman before it, and JL after...

But yeah, it was an awesome series. He was more of a Spider-Man than a batman. My favorite eps where whenever Bats gave a nod to his past or Barbara did. I'm need to torrent this. Return of the Joker also kicked a lot of ass. Isn't he supposed to show up in an episode of JLU? Shinobi, get your ass in here asap.

Yeah, the season finale for JLU is a two parter where travel to the future. Static and Batman Beyond are supposed to be featured.

Invader Zim begs to differ, sir!

But yeah, I enjoyed the hell out of Batman Beyond, they did quite a few excellent episodes, and it was the usual (read: way above average) quality from the DC Animation guys.

Strap on your hooker ...
Batman Beyond is great - they definitely need to do a box set, as only about 1/4 of the total episodes are on the DVDs they've put out. I love that it's not like all those other lame future superhero reimaginings that are just the same stuff in a new setting (OMG it's Future Two-Face!), they made it an actual continuation that completely makes sense and honors the characters.

Static Shock is bad. Very bad. Static himself is pretty cool, but Gear, the lame ethnic-rainbow generic street-style villians, and the unbearably heavy-handed morals that weigh down any cartoon with a "progressive" protagonist, are just putrid.

Everytime Richie opens his mouth I wanna fucking punch the tv.

Yeah Richie sucked ass, he was a super corny tv replacement for Virgil's best friend in the original comic. Everytime I heard him say "yo B" I just wanted to vomit. Even though he's corny, I still love Static and Richie did produce a few awesome eps. Like the "Sons of the father" ep and the other one where he became "Push".

Well the cartoon is set in the urban working class area of Milestone's Dakota universe so I think they fit nicely.

It's a shame this cartoon is cancelled now, all because they couldn't get a damn toy deal. Hate on Static all you wany, Future Static rocked, they need to add him the Justice League.

I LOVED Batman Beyond. Especially the episode with Mr. Freeze.. that was so good. DAMN YOU WB FOR TAKING IT AWAY!!

Static Shock... meh? The only episodes that were ok-good, were when Batman or the JL was in it. Other than that, I couldn't care less for the show.

Yeah, that Freeze episode rocked. I always wanted that episode to end with him being reunited with Nora. :(

I love BB which surprised me given how much I adore BTAS I figured it would suck. I really love for dvd boxsets of this and JL but WB had made it a point time and time again that they have no interest in this :(

Er...here's my ass. Didn't know about that rumour before, so I did a quick search...

Comics Continuum is reporting that the future Batman, Terry McGuinness will appear in the Justice League episode 'The Once and Future Thing, Pt. 2'

That should be a lot of fun.

Batman the detective >>> Batman the pussy ass bitch with a suit that gives him powers.

You need to watch Return of the Joker. And since you're 13, watch the edited version. :lol Nah just kidding, the unedited version is the only way to go. But really, that movie is just awesome...Terry earns the Batman mantle.

Batman Beyond really surprised me. I've never been into alternate future stories, and figured Beyond would be lame. But it was really well done, and I grew to like it more as the series progressed. And Return of the Joker is shockingly good. Again, it's sad that a mere "kid's" show can get stuff like this right, when four big budget Batman films have failed miserably at getting some or all the major components even close.

As for DVD, I reckon they'll hold off until the Batman sets have been released. It has to happen eventually (same with Justice League).

Batman Beyond was good, but I didn't like the way Terry got his ass handed to him every other episode.

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker was awesome. The stuff that happened to Robin was pretty gruesome and Batman's "I'll break you in two" line was classic.

Yeah, please no more static shock. Way too preachy. Batman Beyond was ok. Bit too dark.

However, Teen Titans is much much better. Lots of humor and a little seriousness added here and there. Starfire and her alien episodes are awesome and Slade was such a crafty villian. 4 seasons have been ordered and I'm hoping it's going continue past this year.

The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
Batman Beyond was sweet when I first heard of it I hated the idea... but they gave so many nods to Bruce in various episodes that it really grew on me... and the movie? Kick...fuckin...ass.

I really don't get to see JL all that often. But this episode was cool. The convo at the start between Bat and GL, the horrible wife, even the wild west shit was cool. But that ending. Now THAT's how you do a cliffhanger.

PS. I've been watching Teen Titans lately(hated it for a long time). Once you get past it being a little silly it's actually kind of not terrible. Some downright enjoyable even.

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
Static Shock and Teen Titans blow. That's all there is to it.

Batman Beyond is pretty cool. I enjoyed it and the links to B:TAS even when they were sometimes rather contrived. Return of the Joker kicks tons of ass. That's been the only DVD I've had no problem double-dipping on.

Justice League is good, but I've barely seen any of it. Hopefully it'll be released in some comprehensive sets at some point.

I've been meaning to sample The Batman too, although I have a feeling that one won't sit well with me.

I've seen a few recent Teen Titans and it isn't as bad as I thought it was, but it still doesn't come close to Batman, Batman Beyond or JL.

As for The Batman, I like what I've seen of that show. Granted it's only been about four episodes, but I really like the interaction with Bruce and Alfred.
