This is not a bash Era thread

This thread is for the OGs.

We were all one once and then the split happened and now, 7 years later, if you tell a Zoomer that Gaf and Era used to be one they will not believe you.

Seeing this split in a way made me understand how two tribes/countries can split a part and head to two different directions.

It is hard to believe that we were all a unified voice once.

Could ResetEra and NeoGAF ever reconcile and become one forum again?

This place looked a lot like Resetera before the split, it was beyond ridiculous. Now it is a lot more flexible and we're allowed to stretch our legs and relax here.

I’ve never visited that place, so I wouldn’t know how different they are, only the occasional person who comes over and either adjusts or gets banned. I also have little interest in hearing about that forum and would rather you not post about it.

In the past decade online culture has become highly polarized between a hard left that embraces cancel mobs and severe mental illness, and a hard right that is all about racial hatred and everything being a conspiracy. I don’t have any interest in discussions couched in either of those directions. Instead, I try to set reasonable standards that allow for some diversity of thought without turning into a mess. This tends to displease a large number of people on both sides and might prevent the site from becoming extremely popular again, which is alright.
