Updated impressions....
-Similar to console game, right from the music at the start. Similar and excessive loading as well.
-Graphics are alright. It's definitely been downgraded from console and the framerate is not silky smooth. There are still replays, walk-ups, etc.
-Basically the same music and announcing, but I swear there are some more takes on players that aren't in the console version.
-Rosters are from January!!! Ugh!!! There are however full roster management, editing, including a player editor.
-MVP profile and unlockables, including stadiums, uniforms and tons of classic players!
-Full sliders, difficulty levels and tweaking from the console version!!! Lots of camera views, etc.
-Season mode (didn't see minors...might have missed it). Home run derby. Multiplayer is local and there is a "pass the psp" type of home run game for one unit.
-Again...I've played one game so everything could change...but it seemed to me that it was hard to tell whether certain hits were grounders or not. And hitting was a bit harder because the buttons aren't as soft as the console version.
I need to play it more. I'm going to be fairly critical as it's one of my favorite console sports games of all time. I just wish that ports to the PSP would give a little more attention to the platform it's on. It feels like it does more than MLB, but the graphics don't seem as nice yet. $50 in comparison to the console title....is flat out fucking greed and avarice from EA.
