Anyone else born on the 4th July?

So 4th of July is a big deal for Americans. Any of you born on this day? Do you get special treatment? Do you do a double celebration?

Ironically I'm British and born on this day. Everytime birthdays are brought up in a discussion im asked, isn't that American independence day? I go yeah and they go oh.

My Daughter was. She came a day later than expected after a 27 hour labor.

We've never made a big deal out of it and she doesn't either. It's just a typical birthday, plus some fireworks.

We knew you would be born on July 4th and we didn't want any part of that so we went to war.

My father is July 2, my Father in Law is July 4th. We do nothing extra other than regular birthday celebrations for him. And we celebrate our independence separately. Being born on the fourth of July has got to be better than being born on Christmas.

I have a friend who was born in that date. I always send her a message with a shirtless Tom Cruise for her birthday, he was her crush when she was a teen.

When i fly to Georgia on the 5th of July. I'll claim back the original 13 colonies for England.

Different holiday but same general idea...I'm a veteran who was born on Veterans Day (11/11- Armistice/Remembrance Day for the UK/Aussies/Canadians).

As a kid it was cool that a holiday fell on the same day because it meant never having school on my birthday. After the military, it holds double meaning and I celebrate it more.

Nice try, Federale.

But no, I wasnt.

As far as the question regarding double celebration, most Americans I know that are born on holidays or within close proximity do not typically get a double celebration rather they are rolled into a single celebration. In other words, the most desirable location for a child in relation to Christmas would be the polar opposite end of the calendar for example. Not saying that's universal but just in my experience, as with all things it also depends on the parents and family.

Is even double celebration a thing? 🤔
I know someone born on Xmas which sucks but also they do double.

I don't know how wild or crazy Americans go for independence day. Or is it just shoot guns, set off fire works and drink beer.

Is it classed as national holiday as in everyone gets the day off work?

Tough luck to that someone 🤣 I'm not American so I don't know honestly

So it's a national bank holiday as in everyone has the day off work? Like Xmas day?
Most places shut down, yeah. Obviously a lot of (if not most) retail/restaurant establishments will remain open, but that's usually about it. And a lot of them will have reduced hours, too.

It's a Federal Holiday, but all that means is banksters and government are guaranteed to get the day off. As with most holidays, many are still working. Though Independence Day is a higher tier holiday, like Christmas, so it is more likely for your private business to close, give a long weekend, or have reduced hours. It really depends on the company / your industry, but outside of those two sectors very little is guaranteed in terms of holidays in the United States, broadly speaking. Very often, business carries on.
