Anyone else find themselves moved by the theme to Sealab?

I swear, even if I've seen the episode, I'll tune into the open and crank up the volume just to hear the theme song at the begining of the show. I love the singers voice, the seductively absurd lyrics, the alt-pop musical sensibilities..everything. I'm often moved to near-tears at the climax of the chorus. It's beautiful.

Sealab's theme has intention, a flying, driving beat, and is intensity followed by a calmer chord that trails off. Perfect. It really moved/moves me the same way.

The only thing I can see to make it any better at all is to do it perfectly with female vocals live OR in a very tastefull electro-house dance set.

I covered this song with my band, have had sex during the song, and was sent an e-card by my girlfriend containing a MIDI verison of the song.

It's incredible.

I do like it. quite much in fact.

I like the closing theme from Red Dwarf more though...

"Its cold outside,
There's no kind of atmosphere,
I'm all alone,
More or less.
Let me fly,
Far away from here,
Fun, fun, fun,
In the sun, sun, sun.

I want to lie,
Shipwrecked and comotoase,
Drinking fresh,
Mango juice,
Goldfish shoals,
Nibbling at my toes,
Fun, fun, fun,
In the sun, sun, sun,
Fun, fun, fun,
In the sun, sun, sun."

kinda sounds like Linda Ronstadt and The Stone Poneys.

I love that song. And a thanks to Mecury for the link.

If anyone could point me to the all guitar version that plays on one of the menu screens on the Sealab DVD, that would be just peachy keen.

I also really like the opening theme for the new Scooby Doo cartoon, "What's New Scooby Doo". I find myself singing it sometimes... Any links?
