Anyone else teach ESL?

There used to be a thread for this way back when. I'm wondering if there's still a community of teachers of English as a foreign language here.

It'd be cool to swap stories, share tips and vent with others who are out in the world teaching ESL.

I'm currently working in Korea. Thinking about moving on next year and curious if some people here could share their experiences in China/Vietnam/wherever.

I did a course in ESL about a decade ago as I was planning to travel abroad and try to get a job teaching English as you have. Alas, it never worked out. Still it was valuable having done the course I guess. Sorry I realise this doesn't really answer your question!

A mate of mine did it after college and moved to Japan. From memory the course was short and he said it was easy, the main thing was having a degree first (Japan).

Have another mate that did the same and went to Korea with his missus. Both said the courses are short and cheap but also a degree was a requirement. No idea what it's like now though.

For both, teaching abroad was easy and they absolutely loved it. Japan teacher dude is still there (Over a decade) and the Korean teacher dude came back as it was just time for him to settle down.
