"World Trade Center: Rise and Fall of an American Icon"

It's focusing mainly on the aftermath and engineering nightmares.

Frontline? It was on last night for me. Still sitting in the TiVo waiting to be watched. :(

Edit: Bah, I'm thinking of another program that was about the same thing. I'll check this out.

There's also a 2-hour 09/11 Commission Report Special on afterwards.

My freshman year I took a course called Catastrophic Failure and in it we discussed the 9/11 events and how the WTC collapsed. Really interesting how all future buildings will be better designed to deal with such a thing, although hopefully it will never have to.

When they designed the building they had taken into account that an airplane might fly into it, however what they didn't calculate was what kind of fuel airplanes would use in the future and that when the airplanes (jets) exploded, the jet fuel went up to such a high temperature that it melted the steel beams and caused the building to collapse on itself.

I fell asleep and forgot all about it. How was it?
