I've read about it recently, and when I went to get my car tinted today, I decided to give it a shot. The guy quoted me one price for the car, so I asked if he could tint the whole front windshield. I'd heard of people doing 75-85% tint on the windshield, which is pretty hard to see I'm sure. Well, the lightest they had lying around was 20%. I had the other two windows done 5%, and the windshield done the 20%. Man, it's fucking dark. It was night when I left the tint place, and for all my 20/20 vision, it was simply too dark. I don't feel comfortable with it like it is now. I can see, but not as well as I'd like. So tomorrow I'm gonna take it in and have the guy remove the front windshield tint. But has anyone else had theirs tinted and survived to tell the story? I'd like to know if I should eventually try and get it tinted 75% somewhere else. That seems like it would be easy to see at night compared to 20%. The way it is right now is kind of ridiculous, and the tint guy did warn me that it was illegal. But I had to give it a shot. Someone tell me it's doable.
Oh, and if anyone wonders why I'd even want to do something like this, I live in Miami, and the car gets hot as hell sitting in the sun all day. I'd also be able to ditch the visors, which are a nuisance with the soft top. PEACE.
