Man why didn't Oprah Winfrey turn this into a theatrical release rather than sticking it on TV. I missed the first hour but have enjoyed what I have seen so far.

Wow, there actually IS a thread . I saw it, never read the book so I can't compare, but I thought the movie was pretty good, though some of the commercial breaks were pretty abrupt and jarring. Sad ending .

So how was it? I missed it and I wanted to see it too. This has to be one of my favorite novels and I figured Oprah wouldn't fuck around with the novel too much.

I didnt see it (had no interest in it), but I have read the book for school in the past.

I saw the end. It was hillarious. The movie ended with some voice asking the chick "What're you doing?" and she answers "Watching God." It was supposed to be deep and meaningful but of course it was just nonsense. I can imagine all of the fat, middle aged women watching it and feeling as if its a monumental work of art.

I only saw a few clips of this, simply to see how Halle Berry looked. Boy did she look good.
